I was the first one to get up, and saw that the helicopter looked a bit tattered. "Guys, I think something's up," I said as we slowly approached it. We finally reached the helicopter and pulled open the door. Unit 6 walked to the cockpit. "Pilots?" He said as he looked at them. I didn't know what I was supposed to expect. It was quite obvious something wasn't right to begin with. It was obvious what Unit 6's gasp meant. Me and a few others came into the cockpit to find a horrific sight. The pilot on the right had blood that seemed to be almost everywhere across his torso. He was clutching a pistol in his hand and the lack of empty rounds on the ground told me one thing: he wasn't even able to get one shot off on the creature. His eyes stared blankly forward towards where he was last facing. That was merciful compared to what happened to the pilot on the left. Words could not describe how mangled-up his appearance looked. The only thing I could remember before I had to leave due to how the appearance made me nauseous was that the second pilot had no resemblance of a face left. The ones who had stronger stomachs told me that was only one part of it. This thing was nothing to be messed with. It now made sense why it had left me alone when it passed over me in the vents. It was making sure we could not escape. We did not know where the nearest human settlement was and if we would survive long enough to get there. The organization must have not planned for this to go horribly wrong. "The heaters in our suits only lasted for two hours. I guess they really thought this was under control," Unit 6 said. "Under control?" Unit 9 said, "Under %@&$ing control?! What do people think comes from mixing up four different things? NOTHING GOOD THAT'S WHAT! Now we are stranded in the arctic with this god-forsaken bugger running around!" Everyone sat for a moment before we made a plan. Unit 6 stated the facts, "We can't really take a chance to go in a random direction and the compass in the helicopter is busted. We can't stay out here in the open since we will probably die from either that thing, the cold, or whatever the hell lives in this state. So does anyone have a plan?" We we're all silent for a minute before Unit 4 said, "We go back in and find some sort of radio or at the least a map or a compass. We need to blow this place sky high and take that thing up with it. This won't be easy but if we can stay as one large group, that creature should stay away from us." This was our best bet so we all climbed back down the ladder into the darkness of the facility.
