"son of a bitch! you're amish," five exclaimed as they left the vehicle, watching a few kids run by.

"who knows what we would've grown up to be while actively amish?" matilda wondered out loud.

"this explains everything."

"how does this explain anything?" five questioned klaus.

"because look!" klaus gestured at the open area. "look at this place. this is everything my childhood was missing."

"hey, uh, klaus?" five called.

"yeah?"

"wait up a minute." he moved in front of klaus as he stopped walking, taking him by the arm. "doppelgänger check - you feel anything strange? itching, sweats, gas, anything like that?"

"no. no, i feel great. apart from the old rash on the tackle, but what can you do?"

matilda let out a disgusted noise before retorting, "what if amish klaus is out doing...amish errands?"

"i'm amish klaus," klaus countered, pointing at himself.

"no, you're junkie-alcoholic klaus," matilda corrected.

"oka - recovering junkie-alcoholic klaus," he argued.

"right," she muttered under her breath as klaus began moving forward, following him.

"well, good luck to you two," five chimed, causing klaus to stop and turn back.

"what? wait, you're not coming?"

"i mean, you already have each other. why don't you do this together?" five suggested.

"together?" klaus echoed, then sighed as he exchanged glances with his twin. "yeah, okay. yeah, we can do that, sure."

matilda followed as klaus began to walk among the amish, heading towards the building they could see ahead. she chose to look at their auras as klaus greeted them, watching them raise their guard as he walked by.

her gaze turned to the building as they neared it, seeing a woman skinning a rabbit. as she turned their way, cleaning her hands with a piece of cloth, the twins' eyes softened.

"she looks like..." matilda trailed off, not quite getting to finish her sentence before klaus said aloud, "mom."

the woman flinched as she turned to klaus, only realizing he seemed, at first glance, harmless. "nay, english. no mothers here," she denied.

"only rabbits." she chuckled.

"oh," he chuckled, glancing at matilda who kept her eyes on the woman. "i'm so sorry."

"i-i'm looking for rachel herschberger."

"no rachel," a man approached them and answered for the woman.

"oh, okay. well, that's a shame. do you happen to know where i might find her? i'm trying to track her down." klaus questioned in return.

"i said there's no rachel here," the man repeated. "now walk your fancy boots back to town where you belong and leave us be."

"okay," klaus chuckled, "alright, no need to get your knickers in a twist there."

"caleb, let the boy speak," the woman spoke before caleb could.

"you're upsetting the womenfolk, and now you're upsetting me." caleb began to approach klaus, who took steps backwards in return.

"no, that's not - i'm not upsetting the womenfolk - "
