"did you set me up?" sloane croaked out as she held luther up into the air. she had reached one of the bathrooms of the hotel when he caught up to her.
"no, i would never do that." he groaned in return, sloane gasping as diego slid an arm around her neck and slotted a knife near her throat with his free hand. "i would. drop him," he demanded.
sloane seemed to hesitate for a moment before doing so, luther gasping as his feet met the ground again.
"you good?" diego asked.
"i'm good." luther straightened, his eyes widening.
"diego, look out!" he exclaimed as evie ran towards the kraken and slammed her stone fist towards his head, the rock easily crumbling as they struggled to control their powers.
while diego had absently loosened his grip on sloane which gave her the opportunity to run towards her personally most trusted umbrella, evie had once again disappeared up until diego's knife flew towards her vanishing point.
she gasped and looked down, finding themself visible with blood trickling from her side. she absently began to walk backwards until her back met with a wall.
evie let out a small laugh before she looked up from the injury, confusing the umbrellas. "i gotta say, you're the first successful one to pull that trick off."
diego smirked. "do i get a free tote bag for that or what?" he tauntingly approached them, confused when she remained visible, until he realized.
"oh, i get it," he proclaimed, turning to luther as well as allison who had joined them in the shower room and pointing at the sparrow with his knife. "they can't turn invisible while they're wounded."
"even just as small as a papercut," evie decided to input, finding no point to keep it a secret. they tilted their head to the side, sloane already predicting a quip coming from her mouth as it opened.
"surprised it took you this fast to get it, considering your relatively small brain capaci - " evie cut herself with a loud groan as diego's hand placed an immense pressure on her wound.
"keep running that mouth, why don't you?" diego growled the threat out before relieving the pressure, evie gasping as she breathed as if she had been long deprived of fresh air.
"luther," allison called to him as he continued to give a concerned look towards sloane. "let her go."
"just - i just want to talk to her. just let me talk to her, please," he pleaded.
"trust me, she's gonna talk," allison assured, then turned to evie whose wound began to stain the beige tiled walls. "they better do."
"it's okay - you'll both be okay," luther stated in a way to comfort, on the contrary. he tried and failed to ignore evie's retaliating glare.
diego tugged sloane towards him and backed her up against the wall as well, allison sitting on one of the bathtubs with diego moving to sit next to her, flipping his blade in his hand.
luther, on the other hand, stood by, feeling useless as he couldn't go against his siblings, though he couldn't help but feel as if he betrayed sloane by letting them take her hostage.
"your sibling's bleeding out - i suggest you make your next moves wisely," allison told sloane. she looked at evie from the corner of her eye, watching her chest heave with every heavy breath she took.
sloane looked at allison again, holding her ground. allison exchanged a look with diego before she turned to the sparrow.
"i heard a rumor..."
