evie blinked the tiredness away from their eyes as they looked around their surroundings.

"uh-oh. guys, help, i don't have my hearing aids," she announced, groaning as she got out from under the pool table.

klaus winced and tapped them on the shoulder, motioning at her mouth then at his head which he dramatically clutched.

"sorry," she mouthed and looked at ben, who already looked agitated with klaus turning back to him while matilda began to help evie.

"you know, it wouldn't hurt to try to get to know him better. you'd be surprised how much love he has to give. and also, he's got this whole plan to save the universe! done, one and done!"

ben began to walk away. "come on, beneri - " he lifted a hand to flip klaus off.

"you have asshole written on your back!" evie informed as she lifted her head from one of the table pockets.

"found them!" matilda shouted, then turned to evie after a moment of silence, her face falling in realization. "oh. shit."

klaus simply watched in amusement while matilda ran around the pool table and tapped evie on the shoulder.

evie turned to her, only to find her squinting with her hands raised, though only for a moment.

"i found them," she signed.

both evie and klaus had brows shooting up.

"you know sign language?" klaus questioned.

"you know sign language?" evie unknowingly echoed, signing back.

"when did you have the time for that?" he asked.

matilda simply gave him a glare before going back to the mannequin head on the other pool table with evie trailing behind.

their face fell before they let out a chuckle. "oh, very funny, drunk eve."

she plucked the pair from the mannequin's ears and made sure they were on the lowest setting before placing them back on.

"that's better." her lips smacked together. "i need water."

"i see your water and i'll raise you..." he trailed off, taking out a flask from his pocket when evie began to immediately shake their head.

"no. nope, no, klaus. get that away from me. just looking at it makes me wanna throw up again. oh god, i threw up last night," evie remembered.

"yeah, right in that corner pocket, actually. and all over your pants and shoes because you forgot pockets have holes." matilda pointed out.

evie looked down to find accuracy in matilda's recollection and groaned, leaving the twins to be alone in the room.

the group erupted in cheers, claps and whistles as reginald returned to the hotel lobby with five beside him.

"that speech last night. wow!" diego playfully marveled while clapping.

"brought me to tears, you big softie," lila added.

"i especially liked when you referred to us as a family bound by destiny and love," viktor teased.

"yes, that was great," luther agreed.

"okay, enough," five shut the teasing down as he walked towards a seat, lila jumping off hers with open arms which he ignored, "it was the booze talking. at the end of the day, you're all still deplorable."
