"i'm so confused," diego chimed after dwelling on the information.

"shocking," allison quipped with her back against a pillar.

"well, someone killed our mothers so we shouldn't exist, but clearly we do exist and the universe can't handle it, which is a problem," viktor summarized.

"big problem," five specified as he swished his cup of coffee.

"especially since we don't have the briefcase anymore," matilda added as she sat on the pool table, looking at klaus who lied on the floor next to a few empty beer bottles before looking at stanley as he exclaimed, kicking his foot into the air.

"stanley! now is not the time to be doing karate, okay?" diego scolded, pointing one of his knives towards the kid.

"yeah? well, mom said i need to practice," stanley spoke back.

"yeah, well, she's not wrong. you're very bad." diego flipped the knife in his hand.

"well, i saved your pathetic ass!"

"stanley makes diego a dilf, doesn't he?" klaus couldn't help but laugh out loud at matilda's revelation.

diego looked incredulously at the ghost and opened his mouth to say something when allison had beaten him to it.

"okay, hold on, five," allison chimed before the subject could spiral away, "so, we caused a paradox, what does that mean?"

"it's hard to say, it's all been theoretical until now - hence matilda stating how fucked we may be - but things have started to disappear."

"who the hell is matilda?" stanley asked diego again.

"that's aunt matilda to you," diego corrected, sounding distressed, before turning to matilda. "mat, can you heal him?"

"i'll do it later." matilda waved a dismissive hand towards his direction before turning to find him giving her an exasperated look. "what? he'll survive."

"what things?" viktor questioned as the other two conversed.

"right now? uh, lobsters."

"and cows from amish farms," matilda remarked.

"and a shit ton at that!" klaus added, sitting up from the floor.

"but i have a feeling this is just the beginning," five added to his original statement.

"a feeling? aren't you retired?" allison asked.

"i want nothing more." five sighed.

"you know, you can't keep dragging us through hell because you have an itch only an apocalypse can scratch and then expect us to deal with the fallout. you're not the boss," allison snapped back, pushing herself off the pillar to walk towards five.

"fine. i'm the messenger and i'm telling you something terrible is coming," he said through gritted teeth.

"then let's go attack the sparrows, get the briefcase, and go home."

"this is our home, allison - accept it." they attempted to suffocate each other in the tension between them only for a second before stanley had caused commotion from hitting the cue rack down.

"that's it, i'm telling your mom!" diego snapped, leaning off the table he was on and nearing the kid.

"ooh!" stanley taunted back.

"wait, where's lila?" five asked.

"shower. i told her she could stay with us," stanley responded.

"wait, when did lila get back?" viktor's question was left unanswered while five took his glass and turned to leave.
