Eddie's Friend {Gareth x Reader}Chapter 1

It was 1984, this is the year I start at a new school. It was my freshman year. This was different though, I was home schooled before. My parents taught me everything I needed to know and needed to know how to not use my powers, yes...I have powers. I was from a lab where other special children were kept, at least I got a chance to escape, I was more quiet and quicker than the others. At least I don't have to think about that place anymore, I have a new family, my mother, Janet, and my father, Erne. Father found me in a ally way, same day I escaped, he was really nice and he just scooped me up and took me home.
But, my parents are always busy now, it's whatever, I have Opal, my fluffy black cat, she keeps me company, so does Dustin, I meant him a long time ago.

Anyways, as I got to school, I walked in getting bumped into, people staring, and whispering as they looked at me.
Once I got to the main office, I checked in once the bell rang and everyone was in their classes, except for one person that was in the office. He had long brown hair, brown eyes, rings, a chain bracelet, and a shirt that says "Hellfire Club".
"Why hello there, honey.", said the lady in front of me. "Are you new?", I nodded, "I'm Y/N L/N.". The lady looked through the file on her desk and found my schedule. "Here you go!", she cheerfully said with a smile, "You'll also need a tour guide, Eddie Munson!", she called the long haired boy over, he got up exhaling and came up to me. "Yes, ma'am?", Eddie responded,  "You'll be showing Y/N around", she said pointing at me. Eddie nodded and guided me out the office.

After we were done looking around, he helped me with my locker. "So, Y/N.", he said looking down at me leaning against the other lockers, "Do you...play DnD? I have a club, it's called Hellfire", he smiles while tilting his head. "Oh uh, ya.", I quickly responded, "So what do you say? You want to join?", he said. I hesitated, "Can I think about it?", "Of course, your also always welcome to my lunch table with me friends.", he said. He took me to my first period, which we have together. "Your late, Munson.", the teacher said, "I know but I HAD to give the new kid a tour.", Eddie replied. "Oh, well...hello, you must be Y/N.", the teacher said while looking at the roster. "I'm Mr. Willow, you may have a seat or introduce yourself.", soon as I heard "introduce yourself", I shook my head no and sat down in the back with Eddie.
During class, I was drawing on the side of my paper while taking notes, Eddie was looking over my shoulder and asked, "What you drawing?", "Just my dnd character.", I whispered. He said it looks nice, it made me smile.

Once Lunch hits after 5th period, I was walking around looking for Eddie and his table, till I found it. I sat down next to Eddie, I was also being stared down by his friends, it just made me sink into my chair. "Who is this?", the brown short curly haired boy said pointing at me. "This...is Y/N, my friend, they are new so treat them with respect.", Eddie said. "Y/N, this is Gareth, Phill, and Jeff.", Phill and Jeff looked at me and asked if I play DnD, of course I nodded. "I'm thinking about joining, don't know when.", I said while picking at my food with my fork. "Well, you should show us your skills at least, or your character.", Gareth said in a bit of annoyance. "Ok.", I said pulling out my sketchbook and putting it in the middle of the table. "Look through it if you wish, boys.", I said grinning ear to ear. Of course, Eddie flipped through the pages, he stops of the page with my character on it (You can make up your character and stuff). We all kept looking through my drawings and talked all through lunch.

After Lunch and other classes, "Hey Y/N!", Eddie called out my name, "Wanna come to Gareth's house? We're gonna be playing games and rehearsing today.", "Rehearsing? Y'all have a band?", I asked. "Ya, it's called, Corded Coffin.", "Um, sure, my parents aren't home anyways, but also my cat, Opal, can I bring her?", "Of course, hop in the van, I'll take you home and we'll be on our way from there.", I nodded and hopped into the van.
After all the directions I gave him to my house, I went inside, got my guitar cause why not, got Opal and her food, got back into the van, and got to Gareth's house.

"Hey guys.", Eddie said getting out the van and opening my door so I can get out. Gareth was to busy playing the drums, I kinda just watched with my light pink cheeks, almost as if I was flustered. Eddie caught me staring at him and he chuckled, "Someone likes someone~.", he teased poking at my shoulder and I looked at Eddie with a even redder face, "No I do not!",  I walk away from him, Opal and Eddie followed me into the garage. Gareth looked at me and stopped playing his drums, he also saw Opal behind me. "What's with the cat?", he asked, "I couldn't leave her at home by herself.", I responded as I picked up Opal, se just stared at Gareth. "Whoa,", Jeff excitedly said look at my guitar that was strapped to my back, "that is a sick ass guitar Y/N!", I smiled, "Thanks, I had him custom made, his name is the Beast.".

"Wait, and it was signed by Billy Idol!?", Eddie said looking at the signature, I nodded. Gareth seemed a lil impressed. "So why don't you play a song?", Gareth said walking up to me, "But by Billy Idol, and maybe sing while your at it.", he scoffed. "Gladly.", I put down Opal and swung my guitar over my body. "We're gonna play Rebel Yell, so get you ass to that drum and rest of y'all, play your guitars.", I chuckled and they did what I said. As we were playing, I started singing and it attracted a couple people, they were cheering, mostly cause they were drunk and confused. Gareth, however was flustered, I caught him looking at me as I was singing.

After all that, we went inside Gareth's house. "Y/N,", Gareth said with a lil red face, "you did good this afternoon.", I smiled and blushed, "Thanks, Gareth.". We both had grabbed a cokes and a snacks for everyone.
"So, what is the movie of the night?", Jeff asked. Everyone shrugged but I realized I have a movie. "Well...", I began to say once everyone turned to me, "I have a movie but...I don't think you guys would really like it—.", I reached into my bag for it. "It's 'Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind', it's a studio Ghibli movie, it came out not so long ago.", I said showing it to them. "Well, seem interesting.", Gareth said and grabbed the tape and popped it into the VCR. We all huddled up on the couch and the floor and began to watch the movie.

Once the movie was over, Eddie, Phill, and Jeff were already sleep. Gareth and I were just whispering to each other so we don't wake the others. We mostly talked about our pets and bands/song artist we liked. "No way!", Gareth yelled a whisper, "You like Metallica to!?", I nodded chuckling with my hand over my mouth, "Yes, one of my favorite bands.", I whispered with a slight yawn. "Hey, you don't have to stay up, you can go to sleep.", Gareth said. I nodded and layed down on my back onto the couch, "Night.", "Night.", we both said to each other. Opal hopped onto my stomach and curled up. We both fell asleep. Gareth had stared at me for a bit and went to sleep as well.

A month later, it's Summer break. Before school ended, I joined Hellfire Club. I had a thousand plans, mainly just to hangout with the rest of Hellfire and my friend Robin.
"Hey Y/N!", Robin said as she came up to me, "Ready for that party?", I smiled, "Of course I am!". As we walked to Steve for a ride. "Hey guys.", he said smiling, "Ready?", both me and Robin yelled "Fuck ya!".
