"Okay. So you have lost partial memory, but all of that can be healed. It usually takes a few months for your memory to come back in, full force, but you will get there. I was so happy to hear that you remembered your family, because that really made things easier. Anyways, we will get you out of here tomorrow morning. But now, I will tell you how you got here." the nurse tells me.

"Okay. I'm ready." I smile at her, unsure of what the think. By now, everyone has exited the room, except for the one nurse who is fixing up the room.

"Alright, so you were in a car accident, as of March third of this year, and today is June eighth. So you were in a coma for about three months and eight days. Ninety-Eight days in total." she informs me, carefully saying each word. "You were driving late at night, a few months before school ended, and that night, you crashed. Your school year just ended three days ago, actually. So you have a whole summer to spend if you like. Don't worry though, all of the bills were paid by your family, so you have no problems. The only thing we ask of you, is to be safe, and to not go too crazy this summer." she jokes, as she passes me a cup of water. "So the doctor said he thinks it will be best if you stay overnight here, since you just woke up, and you can leave in the morning with your family." she smiles. "If you need anything, don't be afraid to ask." she reminds me, before leaving the room once again.

I sit in shock, realizing I hadn't said a word since she told me my background story.

How did all of this happen...

I have always been a good driver, from what I remember.

How could I have gotten in a car accident?

I hope the person I crashed into is okay now.

I hope they didn't fall into a coma...

Thoughts race through my mind, and before I know it, I drift off to sleep.

"Brooke. Wake up." a familiar voice whispers to me. I open my eyes and see my best friend, Kaycee, smiling at me. "Come on girl, we are headed to your house soon. Your parents are having a get together tonight for your, 'Welcome Home' thingy." she smiles, sitting down next to me. We talk for a while before the nurse comes in and tells us that this room need to be cleared in an hour because another patient needs it. With that, Kaycee hands me my bathroom essentials, and I make my way to the bathroom, while she waits on the bed.

I quickly take a shower and blow dry my hair, slipping on some shorts and a t-shirt. I brush my teeth and then step out of the bathroom, carrying all of my belongings.

"Ready?" Kaycee grins, setting her phone in her bag.

"Yeah." I whisper, not realizing how soft my voice was.

"Let's go. They are waiting outside." she informs me, as she reaches to carry my bag for me.

"Kay." I mumble, as we exit the room.

"Home we go!" Trent yells as we approach everyone, outside.

"Get ready to turn up." Kaycee whispers into my ear.

"M'kay." I grin, weakly, as I get into the car.

"You okay?" Kaycee asks me.

"I'm good." I lie, still thinking about my crash.

How could this have happened?

I missed the end of the school year?

What about finals?

Oh god, my teacher probably dropped my grades!

My grades!

After a few weeks, everyone will probably go back to treating like however they treated me before...

But my grades.

God, I think I was trying to bring up a grade...now I can't.

So much stress floods through my brain over my grades, school, and everything else I missed out on, until Trent parks the car into a driveway.

"Where are we?" I grumble, feeling the start of a headache.

"Our home?" Trent said, more like a question.

"Oh..." I mumble sadly. "Unfortunately, I don't remember..." I sigh.

"Hey. It's okay Brooke. Like the nurse said, you'll get there." Trent smiles, sensing my down mood. "Don't be so sad, it's your party tonight!" he adds, stepping out of the car, followed my my mom and dad.

"Kaycee?" I ask.

"Yeah." she answers, looking at my sympathetically.

"Can you answer some questions for me later?" I ask her.

"Um, sure thing." she says, not sounding too sure of herself. "Here, I'll show you where you room is, hopefully you'll remember it soon."

"Thanks." I say, plastering on a smile, as we all enter the house I wish I could remember.
