"Alright. Let's roll." I smiled to myself as I parked my car outside of the location Luke sent to me.
Brooke: yo, you here
Luke replied a few minutes later.
Luke: yeah, I just parked. No texting & driving!!!
I rolled my eyes and got out of my car.
Brooke: meet me at the driveway.
Luke: will do ma'am
I smiled as I approached Luke at the driveway. I shook my head at his tattered band shirt and jeans.
"Kaycee told me she is here already, let's meet up with her." I told Luke, and he nodded.
"Cool."
When we halted at the front door, I saw Luke looking back and forth from me to the door, trying to pass the message that I should knock.
Ignoring him, I quickly opened the door and walked inside, knowing that Luke was trailing behind me.
The music was already blaring.
"Did you really think someone would've heard us knock?" I laugh into Luke's ear, and he rolls his eyes at me.
"Common curtesy." he shouts back to me and I shake my head.
We make our way through the hallway and into the kitchen, greeted by a young boy chugging some type of alcoholic beverage.
"The only thing I'm drinking tonight is water. Am I right, ladies?" Luke jokes to me, and I subtly nod to him. I guess some guy heard Luke's attempt of a joke, or he is just another drunk, because he dramatically threw his arm on Luke's shoulder and started laughing. Luke smiled at me, raising his eyebrows as if to make me jealous of how someone laughed at what he said.
"Get over yourself, Luke. This guy will probably laugh at anything." I laughed, looking over at the guy who was still laughing. "Who is that?" I asked the guy, pointing to some random stranger.
The guy stopped laughing and didn't say anything, only shrugging. "Anyways..." I said, as the guy finally removed his arm from Luke and started laughing at a girl who sat down on the couch. I guess Luke just has a way with people. Or the guy just hated me.
"Remind me to not take any drinks from him." Luke shouts into my ear, causing me to jump.
"Gotcha." I said, pulling myself together. "Let's go find Kaycee."
A few minutes later I get a call from Kaycee.
"Hey there." I answer, getting a weird look from a stranger who is dancing on someone.
"Oh my gosh, I have been trying to call you for five minutes straight-but then I realized that I was calling my ex, Brody. And he kept denying them, well, I thought you were denying them. I swear I haven't been drinking!" She shouted into the phone as I smiled.
"Where are you?"
"The upstairs bathroom. I didn't want to be seen alone..." she whispered, probably so no one would hear her mention that she was alone.
"Oh Kaycee." I laugh as I pull Luke with me up the stairs.
"Is that you outside the door?" she whispers into the phone as I keep a beat with my hand, knocking.
"Kaycee! What-oh yeah." I yell as the door swings open to reveal my best friend, right before I knocked again on her face.
"Hey-watch it." she smiles, before hugging me and smiling at Luke.
"Why hello." he nods, and I pull both of them with me.
"Alright, guys. Let's have a good time, yeah?"
