I strode into Endeavor's office, my head held high. I smacked the paper down on Endeavor's desk and slid it toward him.
He looked at it a second before looking up at me with a raised eyebrow. "What's this?"
"My letter of resignation."
"What?"
"I am no longer your sidekick." I stated.
He stood up. "Look if this is about the meeting last night-"
I cut him off. "Oh it is."
He sighed. "We are heroes Y/N. We have to do whatever means necessary to save people. Sometimes people die. It comes with the job."
I crossed my arms.
"Please don't resign."
"Too late."
Endeavor studied me. "Why do you care so much about the league of villains?" He asked slowly.
"I don't."
"You never defended any other villain groups."
"I am not defending them." I said. I needed to be careful.
"But you are."
"I just don't want unnecessary blood shed. Civilians will most likely die if hero's do whatever it takes to kill the league members. The league of villains will probably get mad and who knows what they will do. Besides, two wrongs don't make a right."
His eyes narrowed. "So you are dead set on quitting?"
I nodded.
He was silent for a moment. "Well, you did well for the short time you were my sidekick. Let me treat you to dinner tonight. Fuyumi is cooking and I am sure she would like to see you."
I thought for a moment before nodding. "Okay."
Endeavor and I walked into his house.
Fuyumi came out of the dining room, a smile plastered on her face. "Y/N!" She stopped right in front of me. "It's great to see you!"
I gave her a small smile back. "It's good to see you too Fuyumi."
Fuyumi looked in between her father and I. "I am almost finished up with dinner. I just need a few more minutes."
Endeavor and I nodded.
Fuyumi turned and walked back into the dining room.
"I need to use the restroom." I stated.
"It's straight down the hall, take a right, and it's on the left."
I nodded my thanks and walked down the hall. I turned right and walked towards the door on the left when movement caught my eye. I stopped walking and looked to the right. A sliding shoji door was slightly ajar. The movement I noticed seemed to be some sort of faint orange light moving. I furrowed my brows and crept toward the room.
I slowly slid the door open just enough for me to slip though.
The room was dark except for a few candles lit on an altar. I surveyed the room. There was a small, child sized bed with a toy box at the end of it. A small desk that seemed to also be child sized. The window on the far wall was boarded shut.
I turned toward the altar and walked toward it.
There was a vase with wilted flowers in it, a few small toys lined the shelves, a pair of shoes, and in the middle a black frame with a picture of a boy in it. The boy wore a black school uniform. He had white hair and... Those bright blue eyes. They were so familiar to me. I then realized they were the same as Endeavors.
This room must have belonged to the child he lost.
I picked up the framed photo. This boy... I have seen him before. Was his death ever on the news? He is Endeavor's kid, so I am sure it was.
I looked back at the boy's piercing blue eyes. Those eyes were so familiar and not just because of Endeavor. No, I knew those eyes. I have looked into those eyes thousands of times before.
My heart sputtered and my hands began to shake. Those eyes had met my own as I confessed my love. Those eyes have seen every inch of me inside and out. Those eyes had looked at me with love. Those eyes... Those eyes had looked at me as he spewed hatred about his... His father.
My hands shook harder as anger and betrayal set in. Why wouldn't he tell me?
The frame slipped out of my hands and hit the wooden floors. The glass breaking. I jumped back.
How could he not tell me? I told him everything about myself and he kept this from me. I felt the truth hit me like a sack of bricks. Dabi is Endeavors son.
The screen to the room was pulled back and I turned around.
Endeavor strode into the room looking ready for battle.
My eyes met his, a replica of Dabis. I felt my heart breaking.
Endeavor flipped a light switch and the room was illuminated. "What is going on? Why are you in here?" He looked down at the broken frame at my feet and anger crossed his face. "What did you do?"
"I... I," I glanced down at the frame and back up at him. "I need to go." I ran as fast as I could out of the house. Endeavor thankfully, didn't follow.
I don't know where I am going. I am just... Going.
I feel so betrayed. I was working for Dabis' father for months and he never told me that that was his father. Does Endeavor know that his oldest child is alive? Probably not if he has a shrine like that.
I need to speak to Dabi.
I headed towards the league's building.
