Skyler woke up in a cold sweat, gasping, and pulling herself up. She looked up, and saw the most shocking sight.
Sky was now in her old classroom- Mr. Clarke's class. She saw all her friends around her, in their seats. However, they looked....younger. Sort of like she...like she went back in time.
And that's when it hit her-- She was back.
Skyler was back to when everything was 'normal'....well fairly normal.
"Max- Never Maxine." A familiar voice called out.
Thus caught Skyler's attention, she quickly snapped her head up. She smiled with tears in her eyes.
Max was okay.
She quickly wiped them away, and as Max walked over to her seat- her and Skyler made eye contact.
Max was alive- she was.....she was back.
Drip drip drip
Sky looked down at her desk noticing blood. She covered her nose, not wanting to spill anymore blood.
"What the...." She mumbled.
Max looked at her with concerned eyes, and sat down at her seat. Right behind Skyler, never taking her eyes off of her.
Skyler raised her hand. "Uh- Mr. Clarke?"
"Yes Skyler?"
He turned around from the board and look at Skyler, his eyes widening.
"Can I go to the bathroom?" She said still covering her nose, hand beginning to fill with blood.
"Y-yes of course!"
Sky sped walked out of her classroom, ignoring the stares from her friends. She ran to the sink in the girls bathroom, and got a couple a paper towels wetting them with water and wiping her nose.
Sky couldn't belive it, I mean how could she.
She had just gone back in time.
How is that possible-- she didn't have any powers. Not like El.
But Sky couldn't shake the feeling that there was something more to her. Otherwise how could she have gone back. She looked herself in the mirror, and took the towel off from her face. Revealing her bloodied nose.
"It's not stopping." Skyler huffed out.
It was better this way anyway- it didn't matter to her how she came back. All that mattered was that she was gonna make sure Max wasn't gonna die this time.
Sklyer didn't want to see her Max in that state again.
Never again.
Sky then spit the blood that trailed into her mouth into the sink. She got a new paper towel and tried her stop the bleeding.
"Damm blood- I really hate blood now." She said remembering Max.
Skyler looked at her hands seeing blood, Max's blood. She started to breath heavily.
"I knew this was too good to be true...." Sky looked up and saw it- she was back in the attic- Max dying in her arms. Only this time Max was talking to her with poison in her voice.
"It's your fault." Max started.
Skyler's opened wide. "W-what....?"
Max let go of me, and got up- her eyes crying blood. "It's your fault I died."
"...Y-you- you don't mean that...." Sky walked backwards, beginning to cry.
Skyler's nose bleed even more.
Max smirked evily. "Don't I?"
"Sky!!" A voice snapped her out of the trance. She looked around and her eyes met Max's.
The real Max this time.
"A-are you okay...?" She added.
"U-uhh..." Sky looked around and realized her shirt was all bloody. "Shit." She muttered.
Sky got another paper and covered her nose, backing away from Max. This was the first time she talked to her since she died. It was hard to look at her in the eye properly without crying.
"I'm....I'm fine." She took another step backwards.
Max raised her eyebrow. "You sure?" She walked closer. "Cause...." She pointed at Skyler's shirt. "That doesn't seem fine to me..."
Skyler hesitated. "U-uh- I have a...." She went quiet trying to come up with an excuse. "...excessive nose bleeds...?"
Max put her hand on her waist. "...okay- let's say I believe you."
Sky sniffed her blood back in, it had finally stopped bleeding....for some reason.
"Uh-- yeah." Sky looked away from Max, moving her focus back to the mirror. She wiped tried to wipe the blood on her shirt, as Max walked closer to Sky.
"So uh...why'd you come?" Sky continued to wipe the blood. "I'm guessing you didn't come from the goodness of your heart." She chuckled.
"That's presumptuous of you." She smirked.
Skyler smiled. "Am I wrong though." She washed her hands, giving up on the shirt.
The paper towel dispenser sound suddenly begain. "Well." Max started, grabbing the towel wetting it. "Maybe."
Skyler couldn't help but smile. "Yea whatever, Mad Max." Sky blurted out.
Her eyes widened, stopping in her tracks. "H-how do you know that..."
Sky turned off the sink. "...uh- at the arcade, dig dug..." Skyler looked at Max. "Your kinda number one." She smiled.
Max looked away. "R-right-- so um Mr. Clarke- he told me to come and check on you..." She trailed off, handing over the paper to Sky.
Sky gladly took the paper. "Right- of course he did." She wiped the blood around the sink. "You don't have to be here- I'm sure you don't wanna spend your first day stuck here with a stranger." Sklyer threw away the bloodied paper.
Max chuckled. "Yeah well- it beats being in that classroom." She said sarcasticly.
She chuckled. "Yeah Mr. Clarke is a little.....eccentric." Both girls started to walk out the bathroom door. "But uh- you don't have to worry about me. I'm fine." Sky opened the door for Max, letting her walk out first.
"Oh well what a relief." She rolled her eyes, as she walked out.
She smiled. "Yeah what a relief." Sky closed the door.
Sky hoped this time it would be different....no this time she was gonna make sure it was different.
