Suzie, Do You Copy?- Chapter 20

It was the next day, and once again Skyler basically got no rest. How could she especially after yesterday, she knew he was back. She knew the upside-down was back. There was no more time for fun. However, she also knew today was the day Dustin was coming back from camp, and she wasn't gonna lie she really missed him. It wasn't the same without Dustin and the whole party felt it too.

Getting up from her bed, Sky made herself over to the bathroom washing up.

When she got out she noticed Max was still laying in bed, however she had woken up.

"Morning, sleepy head." Skyler softly spoke, smiling.

"Morning."

Sky sat down, playing with Max's hair. "You know you should just move in- it basically already feels like you live here anyways."

Max giggled. "Yeah- I should." Then she took a deep breath and sighed. "Sky?"

"Yeah?"

"What happened yesterday? Back at the movie theater."

Skyler stopped playing with her hair, and her smile dropped. She took a pause and finally spoke up. "Uh- nothing?"

"Skyler." She said with a knowing tone.

"Okay okay- I dunno I just- felt....off."

"Felt off how?" Max said scooting closer, getting worried.

"Well....I didn't want to alarm anyone but when the lights when out we felt it. Will and I. It felt...familiar."

"What did?"

"It was the same feeling from back then, from last year."

Max's breath hitched, her eyes widening. "Are you sure?"

"Positive- but! Please don't tell anyone." She sighed. "At least not yet."

"Okay...maybe it's just all a coincidence?" Max said trying to be hopeful.

"Yeah....maybe." Skyler wanted to believe it, however, she knew better.

It was later in the day and the party had all gathered up in Dustin's house. They had purposely been ignoring Dustin's calls through the radio, making it seem like they had forgotten about him coming back today. Even though Skyler felt bad ignoring him, she knew it was just all part of the plan. They had all decided to surprise Dustin when he came home, hiding behind a wall as Dustin walked in, the party giving eachother excited smiles.

Dustin then walked to his room, putting his things on the bed, letting out a big sigh and sitting down. He looked over at his tortoise lightly smiling.

"At least someone's happy I'm home."

Mike looked at Eleven, nodding his head and softly wispering. "Now."

Then suddenly one of Dustin's toy robots began to beep, slowly rolling out of Dustin's closet, getting his attention. One after another his toys seemed to come to life, fear washing over any sadness Dustin had before. As the robots got closer to the boy, he quickly stood up looking in disbelief at his surroundings.

The toys, then trailed out of his room, but before following them, the curly haired boy took a weapon with him, his hairspray.

Carefully walking behind the toys, he followed them, hands shaking.

"It's just a dream, your dreaming."

Once he had made it to the living room, the party smiled again, knowing this was all part of their plan. Skyler and Max, hand in hand, looked at eachother, smiling, excited to surprise Dustin.
