By the time the duo had gone back to class the bell already rang, signaling the end of class. They both walked into class after the rest of the students left, leaving the room empty. Skyler took one last glance, smiling at Max before turning to Mr. Clarke.

"Skyler!" He started. "You feeling better?" Mr. Clarke walked slowly towards Sky, putting down whatever books he had in his hands.

"uh-" She looked back at Max gathering her things. "yea- better." She gave him a thumbs up in  response.

"That's good to hear, I didn't want my best student getting sick now." He chuckled. "oh- and you didn't miss anything too important- so you don't have to worry." He said as he walked back to his table, picking up his things. Skyler nodded, signaling she understood. She then walked to her seat, to pick up her left behind things, passing Max, and giving each other a smile as she did so.

"uh- sorry again...." Sky blurted out, looking down.

Max turned around, smiling. "Like I said before I don't mind." She began to walk to the door, Sky following behind her, Skyler's belongings in her hand, when Max suddenly stopped. "What are friends for?" she shrugged, and walked out, leaving Sky stunned.

"Friends...." She mumbled, then smiled, walking to her locker deciding to leave her things there.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

It was recess time and Skyler had put on a sweater to cover up the blood on her shirt, not wanting to draw any attention to herself. She was outside sitting down on a bench, nearby to her friends. Mike, Will, Lucas, and Dustin, who were all bombarding her with questions about her nosebleed in science class earlier.

"You sure your okay?" Lucas started, sounding concerned.

"Yeah- I mean, you sure you didn't hit your head or anything?" Dustin added, getting closer to Sky, touching her forehead.

Skyler chuckled and shook her head, taking Dustin's hand off of her. "I think I would know if I hit my head."

The whole group looked at Sky, with worry still not convinced. Especially Mike. He thought everything was suspicious now that Eleven was gone.

"I just- " Sky's eyes wondered off, looking at the readahead skateboarding, then shook her head. "I-I'm fine- I think I'm just dehydrated.....or something." She smiled, still looking at Max.

Mike huffed and shook his head. "Whatever you say Harrington."

Sky smiled, and thought about her brother Steve. Then frowned- thinking about how hurt he was going to get in the future. How hurt everyone was gonna get in the future. She suddenly got up, startling the group.

"I think I'm gonna go say hi." Skyler said looking at Max. Lucas and Dustin looked at with excitement.

"So suddenly?" Will asked.

"Well, these two knuckle heads have been staring at her since we got here- so...." She said pointing at Lucas and Dustin.

"How could we not, I mean look at her--!" Dustin said smiling.

"Right and she skateboards too!!" Lucas agreed with him. "She's awesome."

"Tell me about it." Sky mumbled, only Will hearing it, making him smile.

"What's so special about her?" Mike blurted. "I mean you haven't even talked to her!"

"I have." Sky spoke up, smiling. "and I'd like to do it again." She began walking towards Max, confidently this time.

"Your crazy..." Mike said.

"Find out if she's MadMax!" Dustin shouted, making Skyler shake her head smiling.

As Sky got closer to Max, she stopped skateboarding, picking up her board effortlessly.

"What's up? Got another nosebleed or something?" Max teased.

Sky chuckled. "You would like that."

They giggled, and Max spoke up. "How dare you- I wouldn't want to wish any harm to my friend!" She said sarcastically, as she covered her mouth with her hand.

"Your right- I'm so sorry." Sky said sarcastically back.

Skyler thought this was nice, talking to Max again before everything went to shit. Before Max....went distant. She shook her head, getting rid of the bad thoughts, staying focused on what was in front of her. Of who was in front of her.

Sky smiled.

"What's so funny, dork?" Max smirked.

Sky shook her head. "Nothingg." She said slowly walking around her.

"C'mon spill it." Max playfully punched Sky on the shoulder.

"It really is nothing, Max."

She squinted at Sky, and huffed out. "Finee." She then looked at the group of guys behind us, near the fence. "You know them?"

"Unfortunately." She joked. Sky really loved her group of friends, they we're the closest thing she had to family, aside from Steve of course.

Max chuckled. She took out a piece of paper and a marker, quickly scribbling something, before throwing it in the trash. Then she walked up the stairs, leading to a door, then turned back to Sky.

"That isn't directed towards you by the way." She smiled. "Obviously."

Sky nodded, remembering what she had put the last time she had gone through this.

"See ya, Red."

"I should be the one calling you that." She giggled going inside.

As soon as Max went inside, she could hear her group of nerds-- friends, running behind her. Dustin went straight for the trashcan and looked for the paper Max previously threw in, making a group of girls that were walking by wisper to themselves. The rest of the group, except Skyler, stood awkwardly trying their best to impress the girls, despite Dustin looking through the trash.

"I swear these guys..." Sky mumbled.

"I got it!!" Dustin shouted, pulling out the paper.

The guys then stood closer to Dustin reading it, then all of their moods dropped.

'Stop spying on us creeps'

"Well shit." Dustin crumbled up the paper and threw it back in the trash.

Skyler laughed at them, covering her face with her hand. "Oh god- you lost any chance of talking to her now!" She continued laughing.

"That isn't true!" Lucas added.

"What about dig dug? Did you ask her?" Dustin asked feeling hopeful.

Skyler finally calming down from her fit of laughter, answered her friend. "Oh right- I was supposed to ask huh?" She put her hand on her smirking, knowing full well that Max was the one and only 'MadMax'. Making Dustin sigh in defeat.

"You had one job!" Lucas spoke up.

Sky walked closer to him, hands on her hips. "Well at least I had the guts to talk to her." She poked Lucas's chest playfully, making him roll his eyes.

"William Byers." The principle said from behind us. "Your mothers here."
