y/n y/l/nI felt something cold land on my arm. I frowned when I felt more. The people around me looked up as droplets of rain fell.
The rain pour harder, with a few flashes of lightning.
I let out a dry laugh, and closed my eyes. I've always loved the rain. The sound of soft patters brought me comfort. Dae-su and Wu-jin laughed as they played along the water piling onto the rooftop.
I jumped, bringing my hands as I pulled Cheong-san to dance with me, laughing. I brought On-jo with us and we danced in a circle, smiling to each other just like old times.
Time when we were free from reality, when everything was normal.
I could tell everyone was happy, some sticking their tongue out. We haven't had anything for days and my throat was dry.
Dae-su and Wu-jin laid on the floor, looking up to the sky. I decide to join them. I close my eyes, the soft dribbles of water massaging my eye lids.
But then I realise, I was crying. My eyes were wet from fresh tears and I frown. I couldn't tell if I was sad crying or happy crying.
Maybe it was both.
I let the rain wash my tears away.
I wanted to enjoy the moment, crying or not.
And I did.

We were huddled under a small shelter. All of us were drenched, head to toe.
Cheong-san had told us if we wanted to leave, we should do it now, while the zombies were distracted by the sound of rain and thunder.
"If we manage to make it to the mountains, we can make it all the way to Yangdong," On-jo said.
The mountains were distant. I didn't know if we'd make it through all the zombies in our school.
"But, isn't this suicide?" Wu-jin asked, his voice betraying him.
"I'm not going." Hyo-ryeong declared. "I'm scared,"
"Hey," I softly spoke. "We all are. But if we don't leave, we're going to die. We have no food, no drinks and no communication device, but we have a chance. And if we don't take it, we're stuck. Besides, our cannibal friends could attack the door to the roof and easily eat us."
Hyo-ryeong let out a small gasp, her eyes shining.
"Should've stopped right after "we're stuck"." Cheong-san mumbled. "Also, it's not like anyone is going to save us if we stay here," he added. "We're the only ones who can save ourselves."
Joon-yeong sighed. Agreeing. He wasn't wearing glasses anymore.
Cheong-sam walked in the open rain as thunder roared. "Let's go." Lightning flashes. "If anything goes wrong, I'll scream and lead the zombies away. That way, none of you will get hurt, okay?"
I place my hands on my chest, "My hero."
He rolled his eyes.
