"Cheong-san..." I whisper.

His mother stood there.

But she wasn't his mother, she was a zombie.

"Eomma," his voice cracked. He reached towards her, trying to climb over the truck but I held him back.

Tears left my eyes as I pulled Cheong-san down. Some of my best memories were with Cheong-san and his mom.

One time I had scraped my knee up to where blood was oozing out. My mother told me I'd be fine and my dad was busy at work.

Cheong-san took me to his house and his mom gasped when she saw me. She immediately took me to the bathroom and nursed my knee, making sure it wouldn't get infected.

She was more of a mother to me than my mom was.

I caught a glimpse of his mom attempting to climb over the truck but fell.

Dae-su, who was now coming out from the other side flinched. "What the hell?!"

Cheong-san's mom whipped her head towards Dae-su and ran at him. He held her off with a pole he'd found. "There's another zombie here!"

Cheong-san slowly got up. I begged him to sit down. I didn't want him to see this, I didn't want this to be in his memory.

I stood up and went in front of him, trying to block the view.

I heard a clang and turn to find Joon-yeong hitting the zombie. My heart stopped for a second, a gasp leaving me.

"Hey, hey, Cheong-san. It's okay. Look at me," I whisper, breath shaky. "Cheong-san look at me. I-it's going to be alright,"

Truth is, it's not.

But I couldn't tell him that. I didn't want to say we have to kill his mom because she got bitten. I didn't want to hurt him even more.

He's not looking at me. He's looking at something behind me. "Stop it," he muttered.

His eyes were stormy, full of anger and pain as he continued watching Dae-su and Joon-yeong attack his helpless mother.

"I said, STOP THAT!" he yelled and jumped over.

"Cheong-san!" I tried to reach for him but he was already on the other side.

He started punching, pulling and fighting Dae-su and Joon-yeong.

I felt On-jo sniff and she stood next to me, holding my hand. I turn to Su-hyeok. "Do something!"

He nodded and ran over to Cheong-san who punched Dae-su with Joon-yeong trying to pull him back.

As Su-hyeok finally held ahold of Cheong-san, Dae-su and Joon-yeong continued to hit his mother with poles. "Get the fuck off me!"

Cheong-san kept trying to push Su-hyeok off and I run over, helping him.

A loud sob came from him as he finally cried, "EOMMA!" he stopped fighting against Su-hyeok, falling down to the ground on his knees.

Dae-su and Joon-yeong stopped attacking and looked at him with shock, obvious guilt painted on their face.

Su-hyeok let him go, his mouth slightly parted in shock as Cheong-san sobbed.

I crouch, fresh tears sliding down my cheeks and hug him tight. He sobbed in the crook of my neck as I held him in my arms.

Dae-su and Joon-yeong had dropped their weapons, looking at his mother and back at Cheong-san.

I felt a light tap on my shoulder and look to where Su-hyeok was pointing.

On our right, zombies were coming.

They must've heard yelling.

"Run!" Su-hyeok instructed.

"Cheong-san, we—we've got to go now." I pull away and cup his face. "Cheong-san, come on. Please,"

On-jo came over to us, glancing back at the zombies who were coming closer.

"Come on. Pull yourself together, man." Su-hyeok gripped his shoulder.

"Cheong-san, please." On-jo begged.

But the boy kept quiet and stared at his mom.

We decided to pull him up and turned to where the others had run. Nam-ra was waiting for us.

Su-hyeok ran over to her and grabbed her hand as we continued running.

Splashes went every as our feet collided with the rain puddles. Cheong-san called for his mother for the last time.

We had made it to the others and continued running. As we ran further, I notice a few people missing. Hyo-ryeong and Ji-min.

Wu-jin had ran back to find them and I quickly gave him a hug.

"Get back safe,"

We arrived at the auditorium and opened the glass doors. I glance back to find Hyo-ryeong, Wu-jin and other figures I couldn't make out.

Maybe he found other survivors?

As the figures came closer I saw an archery bow—Ha-ri???

Ha-ri!

I also notice a guy with a bowl cut with a bow and another guy who's laid out on a D.I.Y stretcher.

There was another girl as well. Mi-jin. I met her in the girls bathroom where she and I suddenly created a conversation.

"Mi-jin!" I cried.

"Ah, Y/nnn!!" She ran in for a hug, grinning.

"You know these seniors?" On-jo asked.

I pointed at Mi-jin and Ha-ri. "Only these two. Don't know about them though," I referred to the two boys.

Mi-jin scrunched her face. "What's wrong with your friend?"

I turn to look at Nam-ra who was mumbling and her expression turned into horror.

"Run."
