WHEN THE GODS HATE YOU

PERCY HAD TAKEN the first group up in the first elevator. Arya had offered to take the second group.

"Where did you go?" Will Solace asked her, standing by her side with his bow strapped onto his back. Both of them watched the elevator ascend, numbers passing so fast they could hardly process which floor they were flying by.

"It's a long story." She waved off as the elevator dinged and opened it's doors to let her out.

She took in the environment around her. She had hopes that her memories of Olympus were that of a little kid, when everything was bigger and shinier, more intimidating. It was much to her disdain to realize that even at seventeen years old the buildings on Olympus were just as big, just as glittery, and just as intimidating. The only difference is this time she wasn't a scared little girl anymore. She could walk through the city with confidence. The beauty of Olympus was still in every square inch of architecture, artwork, and color. It really was something to behold.

Four years ago she had a vision in a dream of her causing a tidal wave so big that it destroyed the magic that protected the buildings and tore them down to nothing. At the time she liked the idea, her memories of Olympus nothing but rotten.

Now she understood what she would be taking away from the world, and just like earlier in the car with Percy, she was glad she wasn't down that path.

She fell in line with Percy and Annabeth who were out in front of the campers. There was no music that filled the streets, and no one was even out and about. All were locked in their homes, or fighting somewhere else. It was odd to see Olympus essentially dead.

Arya listened in as Percy and Annabeth talked about Hera, last year Annabeth had gotten on the goddesses bad side and now Hera was out to get her. Arya could relate.

"Look!" Pollux cried, pointing toward the horizon. "What is that?"

They all looked over the palace and watched as blue comment like things came towards Olympus but fizzled out before they could do any damage.

"They're targeting Olympus, testing it's magic to see how they can take it down." Arya informed the others.

"Let's get inside." Percy said with a direct tone.

The Hall of the Gods was empty, something Arya imagined didn't happen often. She thought this might be the case, which means they would have to pray and ask a favor, something Arya would only resort to as a last resort, she didn't want to make habit of asking favors from the King Himself.
