THE END OF THE BEGINNING

"ARE YOU REALLY SURE about sailing by yourself to another country." Percy said in his half-awake state, hair sticking up in every direction, bags under his eyes.

"No one's ever really sure about anything." She said, zipping up her duffle bag. Out of the corner of her eye she saw Percy stiffen in concern. "But I am very excited if that tells you anything."

He relaxed and came over to help her finish loading her stuff.

"And like always, you decided to wait till the last minute to pack everything."

"I meant to do it last night, but we all passed out around the campfire!" Arya defended, thinking back fondly of the night where Percy and Nico had a s'mores eating contest while Arya and bet each other who was going to win.

Arya owes Annabeth a t-shirt from the London Eye.

Arya looked into her backpack making sure she had Charles journal, along with all the pictures her friends from camp had given her, the cellphone Sally had bought her, and her various other necessities.

"Passport?" Percy asked.

Arya thought for a second before reaching under her pillow and grabbing it, shoving it into her bag.

"The pillow? Really?"

"I'm going to have to ask that you stop judging me."

After a few more minutes, Arya had all her bags by the door, her bed was made, her deck cleaned up. She sat down and took one last minute with Percy in the Poseidon cabin.

"If I come back and you and Annabeth have stupidly-"

"Arya it took us a war to get us together. I'm not letting anything tear us apart." Percy said confidently. That's what Arya liked to hear. "But you are coming back right?"

"As much as I'd like too right now, I don't think I can stay away from this place too long, So yeah I'll be back." She nodded.

"And I will be waiting on the shore for your boat on that horizon."

"I expect nothing less." She smiled at him, as she stood up.  "Be good while I'm gone, don't get into any more trouble, lets just have a calm year."

"I'll agree to that as long as you agree not to make any stupid decisions while you're off froliking in Europe."
