"Alrighty," Sam spoke once they had finished the tour. The camera was set on the table, facing the group. Hazel was on one side of Colby while Nate was standing on Sam's side. Facing the camera, Sam spoke once again. "So we've finished the house tour as you guys have seen, which means it's time for our first investigation. Firstly, we'll be using the emf meter. It'll spike when there's energy, as to which we'll use in the places Hazel told us were most active as well as Isla's room."
Hazel nods in agreement. Nate held the emf meter in his hand as Colby pulled out two extra cameras to place in the garden as well as the kitchen. "We'll carry the main camera with us but these two will be elsewhere to catch anything we might not see while using the emf meter." Colby states.
"We'll each carry the emf meter in a room one by one. Nate has it so he'll use it wherever he chooses and the same for all of us." Sam says, turning to Nate who was staring wide-eyed at the emf meter. "Are you ready?" He asked.
This made Hazel laugh. Sounds as though Sam was ready to push Nate towards something far worst than the emf reading. "Yeah, I'll take the emf to the living room. I know it's not the most active but I just wanna prove that it's not, limit out the possibilities." Nate responds as Colby walks into the living room, placing a smaller camera above the fireplace.
"What if that turns on and melts the camera?" asked Sam.
Hazel agrees. "If it melts, no proof. No proof, no video." She adds.
Colby glances between them and the camera, thinks about it, and agrees. "You're right. I'll place it near the coat hanger, on this windowsill. Better?"
Sam nods. "Perfect," He turns to Nate, "Alright. So the camera's recording. We'll be in the kitchen, waiting. Whenever you're ready or if something happens, call us and we'll come."
"Alright. I'm gonna start walking around."
Now Nate was alone. In the dark with the camera facing him. The emf meter didn't go off yet but it was too early to catch anything. Only five minutes into the investigation. Nate had taken a seat on the couch, in silence. Though Nate hated the silence, he was forever uncomfortable, and growing up, didn't have the greatest experience involving the dark. Nothing happened, so Nate decided to ask questions, in hope of catching something, soon.
"Isla, if you're here, please give me a sign. Let me know you're here."
Nothing.
Then Nate stood up. He walked around the couch, placing the emf in corners, on objects to get a spike he so desperately wanted. Finally, a spike occurred. It only reached the second green ball on the emf but it was enough to get Nate ready. "If this is one of your most active rooms, can you make this emf spike to yellow, please?" Nate called out.
"Did something happen? I hear Nate." Sam whispered.
"Not sure. But keep quiet so he doesn't get scared by our voices." Colby whispered back.
The emf spiked to the first yellow ball which scared Nate. But as brave as Nate is, he didn't show it. You never show the spirit you're scared or they'll use that against you, no matter how nice they are. A nice spirit can be corrupted by the buried anger they might not realize they have and with a snap of a finger, could be released by anything interrupting their peace. "Thank you. My last question to you is if you're Isla, can you make this spike all the way?"
As soon as the words left Nate's lips, the emf spiked to the very end. Nate opened his eyes wide in shock as he thanked Isla for showing up. He's a brave one, alright. He was never one to get scared, even when a spirit showed that they were here. Isla showing a clear sign didn't scare Nate to the edge but the next event right after did.
Before Nate could leave the living room, he felt a sensation, a warm sensation on his arm. It was as though something had touched his arm. But it didn't feel dangerous or a warning, it felt... safe. Nate looked down, realizing that he wasn't near anything, in fact, he was in the middle of the living room. The warm sensation was still there, but it moved up his arm. It stayed there for a few more seconds before the warmth disappeared. Now, Nate felt like he could move so he ran to the kitchen.
"I can't fucking make this shit up." said Nate.
Hazel looked up at him to see that he was both shocked.. but also excited. "What happened?"
"I asked if Isla was here, to give me a sign, and the emf spiked. But what really shocked me was the fact that before I stepped foot out of the living room, I felt warmth on my arm. Like something had touched me."
Sam was silent. Couldn't form any words. "Are you fucking serious?" asked Colby.
"Swear."
This is how Colby knew he wasn't joking. Nate never swore on anything, not once.
"Did the warmth move up your arm?" asked Hazel. Nate nods.
Then Hazel smiled. She knew who that was. "That is in fact Isla telling you she's here. Isla is the kind of woman that likes to keep her arm around yours because she felt safe. Whether that was being her lover's arm or someone she once knew. Isla's here. In her home." Hazel said, smiling at the comfort she felt. There were no words to describe how happy she was, knowing that Isla finally made it back home. There's no telling what the other side is like, what Isla's adventure was. How long it took her to reach home, once again.
Isla was finally here, making her story known. Making herself known.
