It's been a couple of minutes since Nate's been touched by Isla. Sam had taken the emf to Isla's bedroom, and Colby took the emf to the garden alongside Hazel. Sam hasn't gotten much evidence that Isla was there but as for Colby, with every question he had asked, the emf spiked to the last red ball.
"She's really here," whispered Hazel. She looked over his shoulder, slightly resting her cheek on Colby's arm as he looked down at her, wondering why she seemed so emotional. Was it because she waited for this moment? Had she not caught any evidence throughout the two years she had bought this place?
"Question, have you seen anything in this house?" asked Colby, turning his body away as he tilted his head to the side. "Has Isla made an appearance before?"
Hazel shrugged. "I had some experiences, but I can't really tell you that all those appearances were Isla herself. This scar, can't be from Isla."
"Whatever happened to her, that caused her death could've angered her. Angered her enough to hurt anything and anyone in this house. I mean, if you think about it, if my death was unanswered, I would be angry."
Hazel sighed. In some way, Colby was right. But then again, Hazel was right. You could be as sweet as candy but if your life was taken from you, you would be filled with this black bubble of pure anger. But appearances that have happened in your life, being scratched or simply seeing something get knocked over, couldn't exactly be because of a certain spirit.
Someone or something could've brought something into the Flower House. It could've been peaceful, Isla could've had a great afterlife but someone might've disturbed it. "What are you saying?" asked Hazel.
"What I'm saying is, there could be another spirit hindering Isla from showing you that she's been here the entire time."
"You've had house tours before, showing people the house. But did you know those people well enough?" Colby adds.
Hazel kept quiet. "Then you closed this place down, opened it to paranormal investigators like me, someone, whoever it may be, could've had an attachment, good or bad." Colby continues.
"Okay, I get it," Hazel whispered. Colby sighed. "I'm not trying to make you think twice or make you feel bad. What I'm saying is if people you've brought here had attachments, it could've been so bad that Isla stood away. Maybe, just maybe, Nate had something about him that made Isla realize that he's good."
"You're jumping to conclusions," states Hazel.
"It's all about the thought process, not being stuck." Colby turns and continues walking as Hazel follows behind slowly. He stopped by the archway, raising the emf to the arch. "Isla, if you're here, make this spike please."
The emf spiked.
"Holy fucking shit," whispered Colby. "Are you angry that we're in the garden?" asked Colby. The emf spiked again. Hazel took a deep shaky breath as she followed behind. "Is Isla the kind of person that doesn't like people invading her place?" Colby asked, keeping his eyes to the ground to avoid tripping over. "I've never had anyone say anything about that. From what I know, Isla doesn't really mind, as long as you know how to respect her things. You see those bushes back there?" Hazel asked, pointing to the very back of the garden. There were two bushes behind planted flowers that seemed to have stayed alive, even though the other flowers were dying.
"Those are Isla and her lover's flowers. Planted them when she first moved here. Wanted to tell her lover that she loved him no matter the difficulties they'd gone through. Their love was unbreakable, no one could tear them apart. Not even the lives they lived."
"Do you know if her lover died first?" asked Colby.
"There are rumors. Some say that he died first but no one knows how. Other people say Isla died first. To me, it doesn't really matter who died first, what matters is that Isla and her lover both lost each other at the end."
Colby was heartbroken. "So that's where the broken hearts come from."
The emf spiked red again. This just confirmed what Colby had read in Isla's journal.
