Dear Diary,
A lot of people are calling me Candy now. I think it's a beautiful thing. I remember asking why Candy was a new name for me and many people have told me, "Well Isla, you're just the sweetest thing we've met" Oh how my heart exploded with joy. But I guess word went around because my mother stepped foot at my door, angry at what she heard. There was no going back once she had told me what she thought about my nickname. She believes it's pathetic and degrading for people to call me Candy, says that people won't take me seriously and I'll never find a husband... if only she knew.
