Steve POV
———
Sometimes I question how smart Henderson is. Here we are going the completely wrong direction to skull rock and he's saying the compass is right. "I practically invented skull rock, I made it popular, trust me I know where it is." I kept telling the dork that he was wrong, but he just didn't listen. "If we don't start going the right way soon the we are never gonna find Eddie! The police will find him first, then you'll never get to see him again! I'll never get to see him again-" I stopped, sighing as I just walked away to the correct area. "Steve!" Nancy called out, seeming annoyed that I was trialing off.I arrived at skull rock, they didn't bother to follow me. I didn't see Eddie anywhere. "God damn it Eddie please say the police didn't get to you first..." I groaned, and worriedly looked around the area. "I see that .. only one of you bothered to find me." I heard from behind me, I turned around. "Dear god we thought you were a goner when we saw the police at your- Rick's house." I turned to him and gave him a small hug and a pat on the back. "Where are your.. kids." He asked, smiling, but seeming a little confused on why they weren't present. His smile seemed to make me, forget mostly about the shithead Dustin was just being. I laughed, cringing at myself for being awkward. "Heh, Dustin was all wrong about the location, I tried to tell the doofus he was wrong, but he didn't listen and I just trailed off from them." I said, looking over at Eddie and smiling, going to sit down on a nearby bench. I patted the spot next to next to me, and he sat down. "I'm surprised you even know about the spot out here, I found it once when someone requested to do a drug deal here, and I spent 3 hours looking for it." He laughed, his laugh was, almost cute. It made me smile. "I actually made this spot a thing, I found it when I heard music loud as shit playing on the lake, I went over to go see it, and when I was walking through the woods, I came across this." I said, Eddie didn't reply, I looked over at him. "Was it Creeping of Death." He asked.
"Holy shit was that you??" I asked, laughing a little bit out of surprise. It was a damn good playing of the guitar and it was blasting through someone's speakers. "Went over to Rick's one time, he said he'd give me a pack if I played him one of his favorites, so I went onto the lake and blasted my heart out. Easiest pack of my life." Eddie leaned back, I could tell he liked talking about playing the guitar. "What about your kids? How's it like being a single mom?" he asked.
"What?" I laughed.
"You drive the kids everywhere, I heard you used to sneak them in places before the mall burned down, your always protecting them and hanging around them, your their mom." He said.
"I never really thought about it that wa-" I got cut off by Dustin shouting. "FINALLY." Oh, I was ready to brag this little shit into the ground. "How was that compass working for you." I asked, making sure to give a tone that says "I told you so" he glared at me and crossed his arms. Robin looked at both me and Eddie sitting rather close to each other on a bench. "So.. you two were just sitting and talking, practically on top of each other on a bench, alone?" She gave me the look and I glared at her, I think Eddie noticed it. Thankfully the other shitheads didn't hear or notice Robin, since they were focusing on Henderson practically pacing back and fourth. "I GOT IT!" He shouted.
"Dude, calm down. What is it??" Lucas asked, frightened by the sudden noise. "When i lead us here, I was not wrong." Dustin shouted. I couldn't believe the words he was spitting out of his mouth. "Dude. This is skull rock, you were wrong." I said, crossing my arms, completely dumbfounded at this utter stupidity. "But I wasn't wrong, the compass was." He proudly exclaimed, acting as if he just figured out the solution to world peace. "Dude, your still wrong." I sighed, honestly I was about to strangle this dude and put him back into the first grade. "Well, yes, but also no." Dustin then went on to explain about the whole electromagnetic field, and how compass' work. "I don't see what your point is." Robin questioned. "I mean, I'm with Steve, you were still wrong either way."
"Thank you."
"There must be another gate, somewhere around here, to find it, we follow the compass." He explained, Nancy took the compass, and started to walk in the direction that it was pointing. "Wh- Eddie is a wanted man, we can't just take a hike through the woods?!" I was obviously concerned, if Eddie was found he could be arrested, or worse, killed. Lucas already told us that his friends from basketball were out to hunt Eddie. Im not really scared of them, but I heard gunshots last night, something tells me that those kids can do a lot more damage than we are expecting.Eddie POV:

We started to follow Nancy and Dustin through the woods, I was a little nervous about going out in daylight, but if we can stop this twat from killing anyone else, it will be worth it. While walking, I started to think back on the talk I had with Harrington. He was smiling, a lot, and the thing Robin said to us, and the look she gave him.. I don't know. Maybe she's just making a joke. I mean, recently I have been paying a lot of attention to Steve, in a way he's.. I wouldn't say cute, because he's tough, but also kind. Oh what the hell, he probably doesn't even think of me in that way. I want to be around him more.. if this whole ordeal never happened, maybe right now we would've talked under different terms, maybe even see a movie or.. god damn it. He's just so..
"Hey Eddie?" I turn to see Dustin next to me. "You seem to be lost in thought, how's this whole.. on the run.. thing taking a toll on you?" He asked. I put my hand on my face. "Well. I mean it's given me time to think about.. stuff and ... people." I sighed, drinking a canteen of water they had given me. "You mean you've realized that your totally crushing on Steve?"I chocked on my drink. "I do not have a crush on Harrington!" I shouted, but sort of in a hushed whisper. "It's ok, I don't mind about that sort of thing, since I can tell that Will, he's a guy from our friend group who moved to Cali, has a total crush on Mike." Dustin laughed, putting his hands behind his head. "Trust me, I can tell."
"I do not have a crush on former king of Hawkins High, Steve Harrington, it's just that he's fun to talk to, and I look forward to seeing him, and that he looks nice and-" Dustin gave me a look. I paused for a moment. "Holy shit I have a crush on Steve fucking Harrington." I said, a little taken aback. Dustin laughed, and punched my shoulder. I grabbed Dustin's shirt and pulled him towards me. "A single word to anyone else here, and you can say goodbye to your title as the future of Hellfire, because you will be thrown into the fire in the pits of hell." I chose to ignore the fact I just threatened a kid but, desperate times call for desperate measures. The sky was getting dark, very dark, and we had just pulled up to the side of the lake. Lovers lake. Where the kid had only just died 24 hours ago. I caught up to the front of the group, since me and Dustin were trailing behind them. Max looked over at me. "Is this where it happened?" I nodded."We're going on that lake." Nancy said, getting a nearby boat parked on the side of the water, we got it and started loading into it. Nancy, Robin, Steve and I got in. "We aren't coming??" He asked, insulted. "It's my goddamn theory."
"Take care of eachother kiddos, bedtime is at 9." Steve and Robin said in unison, chuckling. We started paddling into the lake, I took one of the paddles while Robin took the other, Steve was cheering like some sort of cheerleader, while Nancy was checking the compass. After a couple minutes I could almost see the kids coming after me in the water, just like last night. "We're here." Nancy announced. "This is the exact spot where that poor kid died." I sighed. It was this exact spot, how could I forget. "I'm checking it out, someone has to do it, and unless any of you could top being a swim instructor at Hawkins High then I'd like to see you step up." Steve stood up and looked at us, not surprised when nobody one upped him. He smirked, and grabbed a flashlight from his bag, he put it down for a moment, and took off his shirt. I could see Robin eyeing the both of us, but my brain completely blocked it out, since I didn't know the hell why. I could feel tension in the boat, as my heart rate increased.
Holy shit. He was ripped as hell.😏😏😏😏
