I'm at work and I come across a beat that I really like. I started crafting a melody before I wrote the rest, it was going really good.

"Who do you think would sound good on this, V?" I asked Victoria, my best friend who was there with me, she also made music.

"How you gon ask me that and not even play me the track first?" She sucked her teeth.

"Girl, be calm." I started singing it and I saw her bopping her head to the words.

"What you think?"

"I like that joint, y/n/n. Now, who do I think would sound good on it? I don't know, it's a lot of possibilities, girl."

She took a puff of her blunt and let the smoke slowly come out of her mouth.

"Who's the possibilities then?"

"Well, you got me, of course, Kehlani, ummm..."

"Kehlani do got the type of voice that would make a bitch..."

"Make a bitch what?"

"I don't know, fall in love or something?"

"You ain't neva lied, girl."

"Mhm."

"So, you tryna get her in this session or what?"

"Yeah, call her."

"Alright." She picked her phone up from the side table, dialed Kehlani's number, and called it.

The phone rang for a few seconds, then...

"Hello?"

"Hey, can you hear me?"

"Yeah, what up, Monét?"

"Are you busy right now?"

"I'm just replacing the tires on my two seater, why?"

"When do you think you'll be done?"

"We on the last one, so not that long."

"You busy after that?"

"You askin so many questions, but won't answer mine."

"Are you gonna be busy after that?"

"No."

"Come through, then."

"Where?"

"The studio, I'll send you the address, let me know when you're done."

"Ight, I'll see you."

"Bye, Keh."

"Bye."

She hung up, took another puff of the blunt, and looked at me.

"What you over there smiling at?" She raised her eyebrow and smirked.

"She sounds so sexy."

"Them deep voices always gon do it for us."

"Yup."

"I'm hungry, should I tell her to pick us up some food?"

"If you want."

She went back on her phone and texted her.

"I said 'If you don't mind, can you get us some food? I'm here with y/n/n, by the way'."

"What she say?"

"Nothing yet, wait never mind."
