This chapter is for Suchi Parikh. She's been going through a lot of crappy high school teenage drama. Her frog did NOT end up turning into the Prince she expected =P. She'll understand the inside joke of that line, and she might also kill me for it.

So anyway, Suchi, hopefully this will make you smile...! And don't worry, who wants to kiss a Frog to get a Prince anyway, plenty more other animals in the sea. Love you loads!! =)

Chapter 8

“Three little birds sat on my window, and they told me I don’t need to worry…” I sang happily in the shower, the water the almost scorching temperature that I loved. I reached over to my cabinet, and pulled out my strawberry scented shampoo, and squeezed a load of it into my hand, humming the tune, swaying to the music. I caressed it into my hair, massaging my scalp gently, “summer came like cinnamon so sweet, little girls double dutch on the concrete.”

I smiled to myself contentedly; showers were one of my favourite parts of the day. I turned up the pressure of the shower- washing all the shampoo out of my hair, watching the water at my feet slowly go from soapy, and bubbly to clean and transparent-

The door of my en suite opened, and I screamed, pulling the flowery shower curtain around me, shielding my body.

It was JAKE.

He had one of his hands over his eyes and another hand on the door keeping him upright, “Saph says to come out quick so she can do your hair and makeup.”

“What are you doing here?! We were supposed to meet at the Hilton!” I screamed, hitching the curtain up even more, even though Jake supposedly couldn’t see anything.

Jake looked incredulous, and took a step back, and slipped slightly on the wet floor but managed to not lose his balance, “Well, we thought that we might as well come get you, you’re no exactly going with anyone are you?” he snorted, “it’s not as if you’re going with the coma man.”

I turned bright red, the blood rushing to my cheeks instantly- I forgot to tell them!

“Don’t call him that Jake… It’s not nice.”

The corner of his lips curved downwards into a frown, “Not nice my gay ass. That guy was a jerk to you and you can’t deny it. Now come on, Saph is going to go ninja on me, and we got to get going soon, you just have about forty-five minutes to get ready,” he continued mockingly, “I know that is not sufficient time, but I hope you’ll get done by that time your highness.”

I chewed on my lip; the water was now starting to run cold, so I switched it off with my free hand, before saying, “I’m going with Blade actually,” fumbling nervously at the curtain, looking at my toes, “I-it’s not a date- were going as friends.”

Jake squealed, jumped up and down, his hand no long on his eyes, and rushed out the room ecstatically, “Oh my GOD! SAPPHIRE!! SAPPHIRE- CARA is going with BLADE, can you believe that she didn’t even bother telling us!!”

With that, Sapphire came dashing to the bathroom, a huge grin on her face, and also just wearing a black lacey corset and complimentary boy shorts. I boggled at her, and hissed, “Sapphire what the hell are you doing?! JAKE IS HERE- go get some clothes on.”

She narrowed her eyes at me, Jake peaked over Sapphires shoulder at me, “You didn’t tell me that you’re going with Blade.” There was calculated menace in her voice-

I gnawed on my lip a bit harder, “We’re going as friends, nothing special.” Liar.

She cocked her head to the left, and leaned against the door frame, Jake having to lean the other way to get a good look at me, “You could have as easily met him there.”
