Chapter 11

“Is that Cara?” I heard Xavier say in the background, “I want to talk to her, give the phone to me Mom.”

I strained to sit up on the bed, Blade’s death grip still around me waist. It was like elastic the more force that I used to sit up the more I got pulled back down, and Blade was still sound asleep. I gave up and just laid down next to him, my hair sprawled on the pillow.

“Cara, baby, God, I missed you. I thought you would be here when I woke up.”

My heart didn’t pang like it used to when he used to call me baby, I just felt my stomach drop, “Hey… I’ve just been busy lately…”

I could practically hear him frown through the phone, “Something’s wrong, what is it?”

“Nothing,” I put fake cheer into my voice, “How are you feeling? How long have you been awake?”

“About two hours- the doctors were running tests till awhile ago. Told Mom to ring you as soon as it turned about ten, I know how much to hate to wake up early during the weekends. I’m alright, my head is throbbing a bit though,” he paused for a moment, “Are you sure you’re alright?”

“Yeah… just tired, the ball last night was a real energy drainer.”

“Oh, that was last night? So you were dancing with the fag?”

I clenched my jaw, “His name is Jake, and he is not a fag alright? He’s my friend, and I expect you to treat him with respect Xavier. Keep your hairnet on, I wasn’t dancing with him.”

Xav’s voice changed, “I don’t understand why you hang around him anyway.”

“Just because you’re a homophobe doesn’t mean you have to disrespect them.”

“I’m not a homophobe, shut the hell up,” his Mom seemed to be talking to him, “No… Mom, just leave for awhile ok?”

I massaged my temples with my free hand, “Listen, Xav, I’ll talk to you later alright?”

His attention returned to me almost immediately, “NO! You answer me first, you said that you were tired out, you were obviously dancing with someone, who was it Cara?”

“Don’t you trust me Xavier?” I asked coldly.

“You know either way I can find out. With one call to one of my buds and I can find out, or you can tell me.”

I sighed exasperated, “It was Blade.”

Xavier snarled, “Did you forget that I was your boyfriend. Did you have fun taking him to the dance as your date- I bet you did, you little whore.”

My jaw dropped, never in all the time we had dated had he ever cussed at me- maybe he had been a bit rough man handling me but, never ever did he bad mouth me.

“F-fuck you, you bastard! I don’t give a crap that you have cancer and that you just had a semi serious operation- under no conditions can you call me that, or any other girl that for that matter. That is one thing I don’t tolerate. We are over! You hear? O-v-e-r. Goodbye Xavier.”

I ended the call haphazardly.

“Jackass.” I said under my breath.

Luckily Blade was still sleeping like a baby, so I set the phone on the bedside table and laid my head back down thinking. His arm latched tighter around my waist drawing me closer to him, so close that I could hear his soft breathing reverberate down his chest.

I didn’t feel remorse, guilt, nausea, nostalgia, regret, sadness, or any of the other emotions you’re supposed to feel after being with someone for years together. What I did feel though was relief. It was like I had been cut from a puppet string that I didn’t even know that I had been attached to, Xavier being the puppeteer.

Never till that moment did I notice how controlled I had been. Never till that moment did I realize that Saph and Jake had been saying to me all this time.

I turned myself to face Blade, only to find his face centimeters from mine. His breath was falling onto my face as he exhaled, his lips parted slightly. I ran my hand down the contours of this face, tracing his hairline, past his side burns, across his slightly rough cheek, and across his contrastingly soft lower lip. He shivered at my touch, and smiled, and it felt good to know that I could do to him what he always seemed to do to me.

I trailed my fingers down the curve of his neck and down his sculpted chest. I was about to reach his belly button when his hand shot out and gripped mine.

And then suddenly I found myself on my back.

Blade was hovering over me, just keeping about an inch of space between us, I don’t know why, but my body yearned for his. I felt my heart rate suddenly start to increase.

He leant down, lips grazing my ear with every word he spoke, “What a wonderful way to wake up.”

Okay, please please don't be angry, I promise to upload again by tomorrow evening, something a LOT more longer. I just had an exam tomorrow morning, and I was soooo tired by the time I got home, then the writers block. But I hope the little romance, and FINALLY ending it with Xavier helps (don't forget about Xavier, he is still a crucial part of the story, so this is NOT the end of him)

I'm so so sorry again. I've never had such a tiny chapter before D:. I'll maybe upload in the same chapter, so I'll delete it later tomorrow and upload again, or I'll just upload as a new chapter. I'll see how it goes.

Please vote! and comment, fan. this chapter is so important to me, cause I don't know how I did the last part of the scene, I've never written anything like it before.

Anyway, upload tomorrow! So don't forget to check it out tomorrow evening too =)

Love you all <3
