A/N: Just a warning, I've seen like 3 Star wars movies and they were with my brother.

TW Homophobic slurs

Mike had given Will his address the day before, claiming they would have a lot of fun. But Will didn't believe it.

Will was never able to make friends easily, why would now be any different? He was only doing this to please the others. Don't get him wrong though, He'd love to be their friend. He just couldn't risk getting his hopes up.

Now here he was, biking to the Wheeler's house.

Max gave him a pep talk a few hours ago, over the phone of course. She and El were hanging out and decided to call him, They both tried encouraging him to have fun.

They both even suggested that Mike could be gay as well, He had no interest in girls, that is what Lucas told them at least.

Will was out to them, No one else though.

If the wrong person found out his life would be ruined. Max kept trying to set him up with girls so finally he told her, He obviously cried and made her promise to not tell anyone.

Then after a bit of convincing he told El, who supported him. They would constantly ask for his opinions on boys now that they knew he liked the same gender, But he rarely gave his honest thoughts to them.

Will's hair was blown back and he could feel the tingly feeling in his cheeks, The cold was no help. His jacket wasn't helping as much as he would like either.

Once Will had arrived at the Wheeler house he slowly walked towards the door, Knocking ever so quietly.

The door swung open within seconds, "oh." The girl mumbled. She looked disappointed.

"Weirdo! Your other friend is here!" She called, Will figured she was Mike's older sister. Nancy.

Her hair was tied up into a messy pony tail, It was brownish and kind curly? Similar to Mikes just a different color. But Nancy was very beautiful. She was the type of girl you would talk about to your friends, The crush you'd have over the summer and try to impress. Obviously nothing would happen due to the age gap.

He had heard about Nancy around school, now that he was a freshman and she was a senior.

Mike eventually came to the door, Pushing Nancy away and calling her a bitch.

Will awkwardly followed Mike to his basement, "Do you plan on killing me?" he whispered.

"What'd you say?" Mike turned around quickly.

"Nothing!" Will responded, stepping back. Mike shrugged and gestured to the couch, Which Dustin sat on.

He didn't mean to speak aloud, it was supposed to be a quiet thought. Nothing more, Nothing less.

Once they had all gotten comfortable the movie started. Will was instantly absorbed into the screen, Completely forgetting he was in a "strangers" house.

•••

"Wow! That was great, the effects were so cool." Will said in awe, Still not realizing who he was talking to.

Mike laughed and continued the conversation, Dustin didn't say one word. He just watched them talk, Both getting excited.

At one point Mike got up and sat beside Will, his hand brushing against the other. Neither really noticed how strange this was.

For two kids who weren't friends they sure acted like it, Grabbing the others hand or smiling a little to much.

Dustin grinned to himself, He thought this was sweet.

Will and Mike seemed to have an understanding about things, They had spoken little to no words around the party but Dustin could tell. They both had something in common that neither knew, but the each acknowledged it just enough to

Now he had no idea both boys were crushing on each other but he could clearly see they would make good friends.

Mike didn't even realize what he was doing until after he did it, His eyes still staring deep into Wills.

"Who knew you would be so much fun to talk too."

Suddenly, Will was very aware of who's house he was in, Of who he was laughing with, of who he had watched a movie with, of who he was actually starting to become friends with.

He stared right into Mike's dark brown eyes, he simply stood up and walked away.

Will Byers wasn't supposed to be friending his little hallway crush. He had known this boy for years but they each never spoke and never bothered to ask for each other's names. It's like that little accident on the steps changed everything.

He left.

Mike sat there, in shock.

The boy who he thought may actually become his friend just left out of nowhere.

No "bye", no "i have to go", nothing.

Dustin spoke up, breaking the silence. "Maybe he forgot something?" Mike nodded, not really paying attention. He pulled his curls back with his fingers, He sighed knowing that he wouldn't get a chance like that with Will again.
