Today is the first full day in Hawaii. Beckett slept well in his little Tiki Hut, but I think he was just excited to sleep in his own little room. Em and I left our connecting doors open all night, so I woke up to her and Beckett waking me up. They love to team up against me every once in a while.
We got breakfast at the café in the main building of the resort. It was adorable in there and the food was really good. We will definitely be going back. I got pancakes and bacon and I think it may have been the best bacon I've ever eaten. Beckett got chocolate chip pancakes and by the time we were done eating he had chocolate all over his face. Safe to assume he liked the pancakes. Em got French toast, and she said it was really good, too.
We went back to the rooms after we ate to let our food settle for a little bit so that we could go to the pool. We were stuffed after breakfast, so we needed a little rest time.
After relaxing in the room for a little bit, we got ready and headed down to the pool. There were enough seats around that we were able to snag a few for ourselves. We laid our towels out on three seats next to each other to save our seats so that we could go get drinks.
Now we're in line at the snack shack to get drinks. We'll have to come back in a couple of hours to get a light lunch to hold us over until dinner.
We step up to the order window and we're greeted by a girl that looks to be about 20. "Hi! Welcome to the snack shack! What can I get for you guys?" She says sweetly.
"Hi! Thanks! Can we get a virgin pina colada an-" I start.
"Make that two please" Em interrupts.
"Sorry, two virgin pina coladas and a Sprite please." No alcohol for us right now. We don't want to get drunk if we have to watch Beckett.
Neither of us needs to be taking care of two children.
The girl goes away to prepare our drinks and comes back a few moments later with two coconuts with umbrellas, a styrofoam cup with a lid, and three straws.
I wasn't expecting coconut drinks, but I'm so excited. I've always wanted to drink out of a coconut.
We grab the drinks from her and thank her, me taking Beckett and I's drinks and Em taking her own, and walk back to our seats we claimed.
"Am I pathetic for being excited about a coconut drink?" I ask Em with a small laugh.
"Umm no, this is the best thing ever, are you kidding?" One thing I can always count on Emery for is agreeing on little things like this.
Today's plan is to have a chill day at the pool. We were busy all day yesterday with traveling, so we're taking a day to relax and enjoy being here before we get busy with the other activities we have planned.
It's about noon now, but my body thinks it's 5 pm, since that's the time it is in Texas.
It's 5 o'clock somewhere, and that somewhere is home.
