We're back in our room to get a little nap in since we had a busy morning on the beach, and the kids couldn't be more rambunctious. Aden and Beckett are both super energetic since they get to spend more time with each other, and Arlo just likes to follow whatever Beckett does. They're quite the trio.

Dane went upstairs a few minutes ago to Harry's room so he could grab Aden and Arlo a change of clothes. That way they can take baths and be clean of all of the sand and saltwater before they settle down and try to sleep. In the meantime, I decided to go ahead and give Beckett a bath so Harry can have the bathroom when Dane gets back.

I get Beckett bathed and a towel wrapped around him when I hear a knock on the door. I get up to get it, but Harry beat me to it by the time I opened the bathroom door. I kind of forgot there was someone else here who can open the door for me.

It's kind of nice.

I see Dane walk in with the kids' clothes and bath stuff, and I shut the bathroom door again to help Beckett get dressed.

Once he's dressed in his new outfit of a palm leaf patterned t-shirt and little grey sweat-shorts, we walk out to see what everyone else is up to.

Harry is talking to Aden and Arlo about something on the couch. Dane must have gone back upstairs to his room, because I don't see him in ours.

"We're done in the bathroom if you're ready," I let him know. He looks up at me from his spot on the couch and gives me a nod.

"You guys ready for a bath?" he asks his kids.

"Yes! Bubble bath?" asks Aden. Arlo just nods his head.

"Not today, Ade. I didn't bring the bubbles here, but I promise we'll have a bubble bath as soon as we get home, okay?" he sounds slightly defeated.

I know how much he hates disappointing them, even if it's something as small as a bubble bath. He tries incredibly hard to give them everything he can, and that's something I admire about him.

"Okay. Is it bath time right now?" she asks. I don't think she's quite ready to leave Beckett's side.

I'm amazed by how well the three of them have gotten along. It took Arlo a bit of warming up since he's so shy, but as the day has gone on he's become inseparable from the other two.

This is like a glimpse into a family dynamic I never thought Beckett and I would have. Having a partner to split the parent duties with. Having siblings to play with. Having a dad that can help in different ways than I could.

Taking on the roles of both parents will work for a little while, but what happens when Beck gets older? There will be things I won't be able to talk with him about. I don't want him to be left in the dark about things that I can't help him with. He deserves to have someone that will teach him about those things.
