I looked for my little brother up and down the house, hoping today he would call me big brother. But too many times had I looked, over and over again. I even asked the other Nordics but they didn't know of his whereabouts.
I resorted to going out, although I didn't want to. It was snowing, and so I wore a coat and a scarf. White blanketed most everything, and children played with each other as their parents watched with smiles on their faces. It was clear the season brought joy, and more soon to come as Christmas neared.
I walked towards the square, where a large pine tree was decorated with many colours. I could see a star at the top, and still shined though it was daytime. I turned my attention away to look for Iceland among the small crowd; to look for even a glimpse of his silver-like hair. I saw it finally, as no one else had the same hair colour, and walked with a quickened pace.
I saw his face, quite close with an Asian-looking one and whom I recognised as Hong Kong. I grabbed my brother's arm and said,"We're going back now!" He looked at me confused before he looked at Hong Kong and said,"R-Right." He yanked away from my grip and tightened his embrace on Hong Kong's arm as he said,"But he's coming along."
I nodded with a sigh and said,"Fine. Finland would love to cook dinner for him as well." They looked at each other again then followed me as I walked away, heading back home.
By the time we reached it was near evening, and Sealand was at the front yard building a snowman with Sweden. I could hear his laughs as he continued, as if without a care of what happened around him.
I walked past them and to the front door, opening it to be greeted by warm air. The atmosphere was warm as well, as Finland could be heard humming as he cooked. Denmark was excitedly decorating the living room, and would stay near the fireplace as he worked.
I gestured for Iceland and Hong Kong to come in as I removed my coat and scarf. I brushed off some snow from my hair. Hearing them talking with hushed tones made me suspicious. Just as I was about to ask, Finland could be heard shouting a cry of victory,"Dinner is ready!"
Sealand immediately ran inside, Sweden warning him to take care of his steps. I went straight to the dining room, my scarf and coat already hung. I sat at my usual seat. Hong Kong and Iceland came in, their coats midway of being taken off. Finland smiled,"How great! It's a good thing I made extras today!" Iceland took his seat next to me (which was rare) and Hong Kong sat opposite, which was next to Finland. I remembered that the seat opposite of me would usually have Iceland, not a guest. I looked to my other side, where Sweden was trying to clean up Sealand's mouth which already had crumbs. It seems that he ate the moment dinner was placed in front of him.
I thanked Finland when he placed a plate of Finnish delicacy in front of me. Hong Kong muttered a thanks as well but Iceland remained quiet. He would usually say thank you in a boring tone. My younger brother was acting unusual, but in what manner? I would have to ask after dinner. Sealand would ask too many questions.
It was silent as we ate except for the sounds of silverware against the plate. Sealand was the fastest to finish, and he immediately ran up probably to his room. Finland rushed after him after finishing with his meal. Sweden said that he would take care of the cleaning today. I nodded.
Hong Kong was next to finish up, the plate clean. Iceland's plate had a few... Vegetables that he had not eaten. Interesting. Iceland would usually finish up or Finland would nag him of not eating a proper diet. Him and his licorice, that has caused.
I quickly ate up the rest of the dish, and stood up abruptly. Iceland and Hong Kong looked at me, a question asked by Hong Kong,"What's wrong?"
I grabbed both of them by the arm, earning complaints from Hong Kong,"Watch your strength!" I ignored it and brought them to the living room. I released my grip then crossed my arms,"Explain. Now." "Explain what?" both of them asked simultaneously.
"Explain why the both of you are acting so strange!"
They looked at each other, then Hong Kong said,"We found out we're acting like each other." I raised an eyebrow,"As in?" "I act like him and he acts like me." he replied. "Which is why I've been trying to avoid you by going out." Iceland said, extremely monotonous.
I sighed, placing a hand on my temple.
"Say, when can we play fireworks?"

A/N: I am so sorry for not updating!! I was being lazy (as usual) but that's not important now. At least I updated. So right now, my mom made me download an app that restricts my phone time. It has been a few weeks since it happened. I can only use my phone from 7-10pm on weekdays, and the whole afternoon till 10pm on weekends. So I cannot guarantee that I'll be able to update frequently, as I want to. I don't have laptop so that's out of the question.
I want to focus updating this one since I have a lot of requests which I have not yet worked on (I apologise). The request box is still open though... I need to check my comments...
But anyway, when shall I see you all again? Hopefully in the near future and in the same month! Ciao!
