Alex sat down in front of his newly-fixed mural, a smile on his face. It was his free period, so he had nowhere to be at that moment. He could just admire his work, relieved that Tatiana's vandalism wasn't going to taint it forever.

He heard footsteps approaching and looked over to see Tess, a blank expression on her face as she sat next to him. Neither looked at each other as a tense silence fell between the two.

"So..." Tess eventually broke, her voice just as uncomfortable as Alex was feeling. "You were the one who outed me?" she asked. Alex's heart dropped- Honest to god, with everything going on and the whole web of lies he'd spun whilst pretending to be Emma, he'd forgotten he'd even done that. Afraid to meet her gaze, he simply nodded, gaining a chuckle from the girl. "I supposed I earned that one"

"Tess, you didn't-"

"I outed you" she reminded him. "Maybe not as maliciously as that video, but I went online and I talked about your transition without your permission, and now... Everyone knows because of what I did" she explained with a sigh. "What you did, with the catfishing and then the video, it wasn't okay" she continued on, glad that Alex wasn't trying to talk over her. "But, I've also hurt you, so I understand why you did it"

"We've really done a number on each other, huh?" Alex rhetorically asked with a laugh that the girl soon echoed. "Tess, I'm so sorry" he apologized. "I know you weren't ready for people to know yet, and I-"

"I'm sorry too, okay?" she cut him off. He couldn't help but smile as he nodded once again. They fell into silence once more, but this time it was more comfortable. Tess was once again the one to break it. "Your mural is nice, by the way"
