A/N : Filler scene for episode 1x01

The pair had been relatively quiet the whole walk to Abby's place. Chris was content in the silence, just spending the passing time focusing on the sidewalk ahead of him and occasionally examining his date's stiff movements with utter fascination. One thing had been eating away at Abby the whole night, though, and as they were walking, she figured that... Well, she only planned to be alive for 180 more days. Might as well just bite the bullet and say it.

"So..." she started hesitantly, gaining the younger man's attention in full. "Am I allowed to ask you questions about you being..."

"Trans?" Chris offered with a patient smile, getting a bashful nod in response. He chuckled at this but gestured for her to continue with whatever questions she had.

"Okay" she hesitated. "I guess I just don't fully understand what that... Means" she admitted. "So, you're a girl, but... Also a guy?"

"I was born in a girl's body" he told her with a small nod. "That should answer any of the questions you don't want to ask" he continued, chuckling at how the older woman turned red at that comment. "But, I identify as a boy. In my head, I'm a boy, and I've been taking hormones for a while to make my voice deeper and whatnot" he explained. Abby processed this information with a small nod. "Does that answer your questions?"

"I feel like I'll keep having questions" Abby told him. "Is that okay?"

"Of course"

"It's just, I haven't been with a trans guy before"

"I understand" Chris assured her. "I've not been with an old woman before"

"Hey!"

"Too soon?"

"...No"

"Darn" Chris snapped his fingers in feigned disappointment. "I was hoping for some of that conflict that I just adore"

"You are a riot, Chris"

"As are you, Abby"
