Sometimes, Ashivon couldn't get out of bed.
Sanga supposed his pain issues only made sense. After all, his body had quite literally gone through the wringer more times than she could count before they'd managed to escape. It made sense that the experience would leave damage, both mentally and physically. So, she was patient with him through it all, especially cause she knew how ashamed he felt over these perceived faults of his.
On this particular morning, Sanga knew it was gonna be one of those days from the moment she woke up.
Despite them officially now being more than friends, they didn't sleep in the same bed since they both often had violent outbursts after nightmares (turns out spending the majority of your life rigorously training and fighting instilled some violence in you), but they did sleep in the same room. So, all Sanga had to do was look over to where Ashivon was awake, but still in bed with a pained expression on his face.
The ex-nun frowned as she walked over to her partner, making sure he saw her approaching to avoid startling him. She sat on the edge of his bed, gently tucking his hair behind his ears to look neater. He groaned in what was most likely a mixture of relief (the man was touch-starved as fuck) and pain.
"Bad pain day?" she asked him, nothing but gentleness in her voice. He turned away from her gaze out of shame as he nodded, wincing as the motion agitated his already aching neck. "That's okay" she assured him. "We're a team, remember?"
"It's just..." he sighed. "You already deal with enough of my issues"
"And you put up with mine" Sanga countered. It was true. Because, while yes her PTSD was far less easily triggered (and therefore wasn't too often a hindrance), she would have periods of depression where, much like Ashivon was now, she could hardly even get out of bed from how numb she felt. "I love you" she added with a small smile that was soon echoed on his face.
"I love you too"
"Can I help in any way?"
"Hmm..." the Voa thought about it for a moment. After a moment, something seemed to come to mind. "Can you let Ahnmivah be aware of my current state?" he asked. "I don't want him to be too concerned at my lack of ability today"
"Sure thing" she agreed. "I'm gonna make some tea as well"
"You don't have to-"
"For both of us" she cut him off, knowing he was less likely to protest the gesture if she said it benefitted both of them. "Do you want me to bring you your cane so you can get around easier?"
"That would be appreciated"
"Okay" she said with finality as she stood up to leave the room. "You're taking it easy today. Got it?"
"Yes, ma'am" Ashivon replied with a chuckle. "And thank you"
"No problem"
