"Seko, are you okay?" Skiff asked as he made his way into her quarters. It was very uncharacteristic for her to miss a guarding shift, so the fact that she hadn't shown up at her post that morning was worrying. She was still lying on her sleeping rock, but she wasn't asleep. That much could be seen just by examining her stiff and tense body language.

"Bad pain morning" she replied, her voice low. The usual playful edge she had about her was now replaced by discomfort and exhaustion. Skiff frowned.

"Can I help?" he asked, walking over and sitting by where she was. He wanted to reach out, to try and provide reassurance or comfort through his touch, but he refrained. Seko's pain issues were statistically proven to be unpredictable. Sometimes touch was fine, appreciated, good. Other times they just made the pain worsen, if only for a second. Seko could practically hear the thought process going through his head and a smile came to her face at the thought.

"Explain the situation to the elders if they ask why I missed my post?" she requested. He gave an affirmative noise- He was planning on doing as such anyway and it wasn't a big deal either way. "Also could you..." she trailed off for a moment as shooting pain went up her back once again. She visibly winced at the pain and Skiff wished there was more he could do. "Could you bring me my meals? I don't know if I'll be able to make my way to the cafeteria" she explained. "If it's too much to ask, you don't have to-"

"I can do that" he cut her off. She craned her neck back despite the pain to flash him a smile, which he returned in force.

"Can I kiss your forehead?"

"You don't have to ask that, Skiff"

"I know, but... You know. Consent. And you're in pain"

"Yes, you can kiss me on the forehead"

"Okay" he chuckled and leaned down to kiss her forehead. She smiled at the gesture. "Do you want anything from me right now?"

"Your company is always appreciated. You don't have another shift for a few hours, right?"

"Nope" he replied with a grin. "I guess you'll just have to put up with me for a bit"
