born into an innocent
world nothing wrong
to be done now that
world is nowhere to
be found it has been
stripped from the
memories all that
can be found is
conditional love
dishonesty and
judgment its a
jacked up world
full of misconceptions
and blame you get
in trouble for
things you didn't do
and things you did
parents try to put
the blame on your
friends for others
misconceptions they
never let you change
their mind, tell your
story or believe what
you say take anything
you say and twist it
to make you look
bad can't show
affection 'cause they
always think you're
having sex can't
ever do anything
right except for
doing wrong
every one more day
I live, I just can't help
but wonder where have
those golden days gone
why can't things still
be the way they were
back then, the way they
were when we were kids
when you lived each
day by the day never
worried about tomorrow
if you fell down, you
got back up and put
your feet back on
the ground you were
never criticized for
your mistakes you
learned from them
and problems were
small and easy to
solve oh, how I wish
someone could bring
back those golden
days
