I check over Sienna's body for any change. Enjoying myself as I admire every inch of her, letting my mind wander to how she'll look once the pregnancy progresses. She's happy playing with my hair while I press gentle kisses up her arm until I meet her face.
"Hey," she whispers, voice breaking before she lets out a huge yawn. "I'm so tired."
I sweep her hair out of her face. "You cramping anymore?"
"A little." She shuts her eyes on another yawn. "Not as bad as before, though."
My nose buries in her neck, needing her scent as the worry from before still lingers. "Do you want some warm tea?"
That car journey up to the hospital was a crazy one until I got the call to say everything was okay. All I could focus on as I steered along the motorway was Sienna going through this alone, again, and if it was happening a second time, how she would deal with it.
Surely our fate wouldn't be so cruel to do that to us twice?
"Oh, yes, please. There's a tea in the cupboard that tastes of biscuits," she replies, giving me a tired smile. "You look so handsome. They did your hair differently today."
Every compliment she gives me will never get boring. I love to receive validation from her. To feel special.
"I think they were going for the caveman look," I say, ruffling out the mad curls, which she seems to enjoy. "The just got out of bed look."
"Yeah," she says, humming into the kiss I press on her lips, stopping at the knock on the door. "Come in," she shouts.
My mum pushes inside, looking between us both nervously. "Davide just showed up."
"What? How on earth did he know we were here?" Sienna replies, pushing against me to sit up.
After Sienna clueing me in on what happened earlier, I gently stop her when she moves to speak to him for myself. "Don't you move, okay?"
"Beau." She grabs my arm, but I shake my head. "Don't be an idiot. I'm coming to see what he wants."
"I'm not being an idiot. I don't know what the hell he's doing here, but it's pretty obvious it's about you, so for now, you keep your pretty little butt on that bed," I respond, not giving her enough time to reply when I climb off the bed and out of the bedroom.
"You're not coming inside of this apartment," my Dad says, turning to frown at me when I round the corner.
"No, you're not," I bark, approaching the big bastard as he near enough bashes into Dad. "You can get lost."
"Is Sienna okay?" he asks, not bothered in the slightest about the hostility greeting him.
I narrow my eyes. "She's fine. How did you find out she's here?"
Creepy bastard.
He smiles. "I have my ways."
When I fall silent, he shuffles closer and straightens up, the smile slipping from his face. "Okay, so it didn't take much for me to find you, which means my brother probably has a handle on where you are, too. I don't know how much you know about him, but he isn't a patient man, and you running away will be pissing him off."
