Mike stood outside of the beach house, yelling and laughing with Tony and a few other guys.
I rolled the window down, being to lazy to get out of the car, and yelled at him, "Mike!"
"The fuck? Why are you here Vic?!" He yells back at me, stumbling forward towards the car.
"Just making sure you were okay," I say simply.
He gives me a weird look but shrugs it off, doing whatever he was doing with the guys before.
I groan in annoyance and turn around, driving back down the small path.
Kellin shifts in his seat beside me, "What's wrong?"
"I'm worried about him," I admit, sighing, "He doesn't make the best of choices."
"Yeah but your not his mom, so," his voice trailed off.
"I know but still. I feel like he's my responsibility sometimes because I'm older," I reply. Don't make me any more moody than I already am.
"Oh okay okay," he says crossing his arms, "Wanna go do something?"
"Like what?" I ask raising an eyebrow.
He hesitates, biting his lower lip, "Like go see a movie or something."
"What?" I ask feeling indifferent.
"I don't know, ugh, just never mind I'm being stupid," he says hiding his face in his hands.
I couldn't help but smile a little, "Sure, let's go see a movie."
He looks back at me with wide blue eyes, "Wait, really?"
"Why not?" I ask smiling back at him. I probably looked so fucking stupid. But I didn't care, I was..happy? Perhaps.
He looks away from me, "Are you gonna make it weird?"
"What do you mean?" I ask, even thought I knew where this was going.
"You know," he says looking away from me. He turned the radio on after that to try to avoid the obvious truth.
"You know Kellin, you're usually the one who makes it weird," I say turning off onto the highway. I really wanted to go home and sleep some more; but my selfish desires would have to be put on hold. The longer we are with each other, the more hilarious it tends to get; and I did not want to miss anything.
"Yeah, I know," he says in defeat.
He is quiet for a while until I catch him staring at me.
"What?" I ask curiously.
"Why do you always wear the same 3 hoodies?" He asks resting his chin on his hand.
"I-I don't," I stutter. Fuck, please no, end it right here. I surrender, I'll do anything you want just leave it be.
"Yeah you do," he protests, "It's not even cold outside today."
"Stop," I spat harshly. Don't get upset, don't let him know. I felt my hands start to shake. Not here, not now.
"What's wrong?" He asks leaning forward in his seat.
"Nothing," I mutter keeping my eyes on the road. Distractions.
"Please tell me you don't," he stops.
Kellin please just leave me alone. Leave me to my own violence.
"You do, don't you?" He asks.
I play the ignorant, "Do what?"
He sighs, "You cut."
