The brain scans had come back with results revealing that Wilhelm had no major injuries.

Simon was quickly dismissed from the hospital room as he was not needed anymore. Linda picked him up shortly after.

Now, Wilhelm was just waiting for his family to come, so he could be discharged.

Waiting, waiting, waiting.

The longer he gazed at the ticking clock plastered onto the white wall, the more the seconds slowed to an almost still.

Time didn't bother quickening, even for the Crown Prince.

Finally, the door to Wilhelm's room swung open, revealing a smug looking Kristina.

Wilhelm became apprehensive. Whatever she was happy about couldn't be good.

"H-hi," Wilhelm stuttered, waving at Kristina nervously.

"Wilhelm!" She replied in a faux sugary voice. "My son..." She said, faking a loving tone.

"Mmm..."

The conversation was so forced. Awkward. Wilhelm never knew how to talk to the queen.

"Well let's get you out of here," Kristina said as she helped Wilhelm out of his bed.

The two made their way through the hospital hallways and out the front doors, settling into a regal looking black limo.

The ride to the palace passed in silence. Wilhelm preferred it this way anyway.

Shortly, Wilhelm and Kristina arrived. They made their way into the huge house, still without a word.

It was only when they were both in the safety of the palace that Kristina spoke:

"I have something I need to discuss with you," she said to Wilhelm.

Oh no. Wilhelm just knew that she was plotting something.

"What is it?" he asked apprehensively.

"Dinner is almost ready. Let's talk about it with your father once it is served."

"Uh... okay," Wilhelm replied, very curious but not wanting to anger her.

Wilhelm went up to his room on the second floor, but it wasn't long until he was summoned to dinner by Malin.

"So," Kristina said with a smile as a blonde chef served them their meal.

Both Kristina and the king were grinning from ear to ear. It was unsettling to Wilhelm. He frowned harder.

"I have come up with a little plan to divert attention away from your little scandal!" the Queen happily said.

F*ck. This was worst case scenario.

"It doesn't need to be covered up anymore," Wilhelm stated flatly.

"Whatever I say needs to happen, needs to happen, Wilhelm," Kristina retorts. "Now please listen!"

Wilhelm falls silent. He doesn't want to give into Kristina, but he does want to hear the plan.

"Your father and I-"

Wilhelm's dad shot his wife a look.

"...okay I...have come up with just the thing," Kristina corrected. "To fully convince the public that you and that boy are not in a relationship together, we will give him a fake boyfriend!"

Wilhelm was taken a back and outraged. He fully expected his mother to come up with some bullsh!t like this, but he thought it would effect him and not his Simon.

"NO. WAY." Wilhelm yelled angrily.

"Wilhelm listen! It's the perfect solution. Simon is happy because he gets a boyfriend for free. The public is happy because they see what a disgraceful gay Simon is and is reassured that you two aren't dating. And you are happy because you are not the one being put into a relationship! Win, win, win!" Kristina explained in an evil tone.

"I f*cking hate you," Wilhelm said with tears in his eyes before getting up from the table, pushing in his chair, and sprinting up the spiral staircase to his room.

-

Kristina was caught off guard. Wilhelm had never spoke so harshly to her before.

Nevertheless, she managed to finish the meal with her husband, chatting amicably during it.

Then, she walked to her study, letting the maids clean up the mess left by dinner.

Once inside her study, she picked up the phone and made an important phone call.

"Hello? Who is this?" The person on the other end of the line asked after they picked up.

"This is the Queen. Is this Linda Eriksson?"

"Oh, your majesty! Yes, this is she. How can I help you?"

"I need to speak to your son, Simon, alone. Can you put him on the phone and leave the room?"

"That I can do," Linda replied, a bit nervous to be speaking to the Queen.

There was a brief pause that was littered with the faint sounds of two people conversing in Spanish. Kristina heard one of them sigh before-

"Your majesty?" A male voice said.

"This is Simon Eriksson?" The Queen asked.

"Yes," came the immediate reply.

"Simon I need you to listen to me closely. We have a distant relative down our bloodline who also has- uh- unfortunate romantic preferences."

Simon scoffs. "And what's that supposed to mean?"

"He's- he's gay," Kristina whispered the last word as if it was forbidden. "Back to the point. We have made the decision for you two to date."

"WHAT?!" Simon yelled, very surprised. "Just because two people are gay does not mean that they want to have a relationship, your majesty."

"That is irrelevant," the Queen responds. "His name is Emil. I think you will find him quite suitable. Emil will be starting at Hillerska tomorrow and will share all of your classes. You are to post a photo of you two on social media every day. The more PDA the better."

And with that, the phone clicked off, leaving Kristina very smug indeed.

Author's Note:

Hey! So this chapter is told from both Wilhelm's and Kristina's perspectives, which is new. I hope it's not too bad.

I decided to give Simon a fake boyfriend because I've seen a lot of fan fictions where Wilhelm gets a fake girlfriend. I needed something to set my story apart that was still realistic, and I think this is the right solution.

If you are wondering why the Queen didn't want Simon to have a fake girlfriend, it's not because she is supportive of him being gay, but because she wants to mock it.
