Chapter Two

Wilhelm opened Simon's contact. He couldn't help it. Simon was his drug, so addictive there wasn't a moment Wilhelm wasn't thinking about him.

Then he saw it. A little heart next to Simon's name. He must have added it late at night, when his thoughts were most dangerous (similar to the present moment).

"Simon♥️"

That simple heart was killing Wilhelm. It brought back every feeling he had been suppressing for the past few days.

His finger hovered over the backspace button. His finger shook violently. It moved closer to the button. The backspace button felt like a black hole, pulling things out of existence, and to Wilhelm, permanently. Because truly he knew that once that heart was deleted it wouldn't be coming back.

Wilhelm shuddered as the backspace key became more appealing. Just as he was about to press his now sweating finger to the dreaded screen, Wilhelm felt Simon's warm arms comforting him from behind. Wilhelm breath hitched as he took in the sensation. Oh wait. It was just Queen Kristina placing her gnarly hand on his back.

Wilhelm shut his screen off as quickly as he could. But it was too late.

"Wilhelm! Was that... was that-," Kristina's voice lowered, "his contact on your phone?!"

The apprehensive boy spun around on his bed, shifting his blankets as he did so, to face her. "...no?" he said, more asking it than stating it.

"If I get even a mere whiff of," the stern woman gestured at Wilhelm's phone now loosely held in his sweating palms, "this disgusting behavior, I will make sure that you are never to step foot in Hillerska again. And that is a promise."

With that, Queen Kristina left Wilhelm stunned beyond words. From that day on, Kristina would only ever be the Queen of Sweden to Wilhelm, never his mother. Mothers do not ask their children to cover up every authentic piece of themselves. Mothers do not leave their children wondering if they would be better off dead.

Hello my loves! I hope you like this chapter. I wrote it right after the first chapter, so I am hoping they flow well together.

This one is still not very long, but I promise you they will increase in length. Remember to give me lots of feedback in the comments :))
