Quick Note Before the Chapter:

Soooo I'm back! I know I have been gone a while my lovelies, but here I am, very much alive. Camp was fun, yet I couldn't stop missing this: the fanfiction and the people writing the lovely comments. I am a bit sick right now, but I will start pumping out chapters nonetheless. I recommend you read the past chapter before this one to refresh yourself and ENJOY!!

Two weeks had past. Two long weeks filled with glums, glows, and quite frankly: everything in between.

So what was new? Absolutely zilch.

You would have thought that by now Simon would have had time to reflect upon Wilhelm's offer about being open at Hillerska. But you would be wrong.

School hinders all good decisions, and the upcoming midterms were doing all but help. Stress, anxiety, and panic. Yes, that's what it brought upon.

However, one positive came out of these pesky yet necessary tests: Wilmon study sessions. And they were in one as of right very now.

-

Simon howled with laughter at Wilhelm's imitation of their history teacher: Mr. Burke.

Wilhelm continued doing it, loving the effect the impression had on the breathless with humor boy sat with him.

Simon laughed harder and harder until he tumbled off the bed from his precarious
position and fell in a shaking heap on the floor.

This caused Wilhelm to too slump to the ground in a fit of giggles.

Simon reached out and grabbed Wilhelm's hand, still positively DYING.

"Fat lot of studying we have been doing," Simon choked out.

"Worth it," Wilhelm chuckled, wiping tears out of his light brown and darker speckled eyes.

The humor in the room subsided slightly and slightly more. Then it faded away.

"Fucking midterms."

"I know."

And it doesn't matter who said what because the words would have been wholly meant either way.

"What do you think will happen if we fail? Get kicked out or some shit?" Wilhelm asked.

"I might be."

"Total bullshit."

One again came: "I know."

The boys pulled themselves off the dorm room floor and into seated positions adjacent to each other. Wilhelm slung an arm around Simon's shoulders.

"I love you."

And Simon's world shuddered to a stop.

The words reverberated around his head for the second time that year, causing an echoing ruckus in the chasm of his brain.

'Thanks but I'm not ready?'

^^No, that wasn't quite right.

'Uh huh... I know that already?'

^^Ouch, too harsh.

Should he just ignore it?

But all these equally plausible thoughts rushed out of Simon's head as he turned sharply to stare into Wilhelm's eyes and said:

"I love you too."

-

Now it was Wilhelm's world that was shattering before his eyes. Yes, with chaos, but nothing negative.

'HE SAID IT BACK; HE SAID IT BACK; HE SAID IT BACK; HE SAID-'

It would have been a perfect time for Wilhelm to lean over and pull Simon's lips to his: just passionately kiss until everything was okay.

But everything wasn't okay. Remember: this wasn't a fairytale, rather real life. And sometimes real life says too fucking bad. Like right now.

Something subconscious made Wilhelm hold off and instead simply grab Simon's hands and caress them within his own while smiling softly.

Simon, I think, also predicted a kiss. Wanted? I shall not say. But definitely predicted.

This is why, perhaps, a look of slight confusion flitted across his now blush pink face.

Wilhelm brought Simon's hands up to his still upturned mouth and gently pressed unsaid promises into them.

Simon understood.

A promise was a promise. And make no mistake, Simon would hold Wilhelm to his. This time, he meant it.
