27. Car Accident

Jude's POV:

I walked home puffy eyed I was completely heartbroken to say the least, yeah its stupid to think, because I'm the one that initiated the breakup in the first place but, I don't know, don't I still get to feel sad. Kyle seemed to take it pretty well.

I walked home trying to gather my thoughts until my phone buzzed in my pocket. At first I decided to ignore it, not really wanting to deal with whom ever was trying to talk to me. It buzzed again, and then again.

I opened my phone to see who the heck was trying to contact me. My phone ready 2 missed calls and had 5 texts I looked at the texts they were from Lena.

Lena's texts

Lena: Jude I need you to come home.

Lena: Jude please pick up the phone.

Lena: Jude call me.

I called Lena. She picked up on the third ring.

"Hello" She said her voice quivering

"Hi mom is everything ok?" I said sensing the tone in her voice.

"Jude... Jesus has been in a car accident can you meet me at the hospital?" She asks.

"Yeah, I'll see you when I get there" I said breaking down.

"OK hun stay safe" She said then hung up.

I tried to stay calm. I mapped the hospital then took the bus there. When I got there the entire family was there. Mariana was on the verge of crying while being held by Brandon. Callie was serious faced. Stef and Lena were holding each other both glassy eyed. Callie saw me and I walked over and gave her a hug.

"Callie what did they say" I asked.

"They said that he is in surgery but has a low chance of recovery" She said her voice shaking.

I nodded, Then my phone buzzed. I checked my phone it was a text from Connor.

Texts between Jude and Connor.

Connor: Hey are you guys home?

Crap I forgot I was Connor was supposed to come over for dinner.

Jude: I 'm so sorry none of us are at home see Jesus got into a car accident and so were at the hospital I'm sorry I made you come to the house.

Connor: Crap is he ok? Wait never mind I'll be there in 20 bye.

I didn't respond to Connors text after that I tried to sort through my head before Connor got here. Too late. Connor walked through the doors.

Connor walked over to me and engulfed me in a hug then sat next to me.

"Any News" He asked.

"They said he was in surgery but had a low chance of recovery" I said avoiding eye contact.

Just then the Doctor came out with a grave look on his face. Everyone looked at him hoping for good news but no such came.

"I'm sorry He didn't make it" He said then turned around and walked away.

I looked at Mariana she was screaming and crying out her brothers name hoping that some how he would come back. Brandon was holding her while crying into her shoulder. Lena and Stef were both sobbing into each other. Callie was crying into her hands. Connor sat there with a shocked look on his face.

I myself didn't know how I felt. I just sat there and looked at the floor. I felt the gut of my stomach in knots and I didn't know what to do.

Connor turned to face me.

"Jude are you ok?" He said.

I shrugged, while looking down.

He gave me a hug and I felt nothing I sat there being hugged, but felt emotion less.
