Levi stepped in without waiting for me to let him, "Did I interrupt something?" He asked politely, looking at how Dean was just standing there, staring at a wall, his ice blue eyes looking shattered. "Yes." He snapped, turning to Levi. "I assume you told her who I am by now?" Levi commented, I closed the door. "He did." I answered, Levi had an infuriatingly polite smile plastered onto his face. "Why are you here?" Dean sounded drained, and I instantly wanted to apologize and run into his arms. I couldn't do that with Levi watching though.

Levi shrugged, "Well I figured you might want to here about the people stalking her around school, or of course you two could go back to having your couples' feud." Before I could object and say that Dean and I weren't dating, Dean said, "There are people stalking her at her school?" He was instantly alert, but I could tell he was still hurting. Damn it, I should've just kissed him instead of being such an asshole about it. He only had good intentions, I chastised myself. "Yes, it seems you weren't the only one with the idea of putting someone into the high school." Levi explained easily. Dean sighed, and I just stared.

I hadn't noticed anyone following me, but of course I'm not nearly as observant. Out of no where I asked, "Why are they even following me around, don't they want Dean? They know where he is." Levi and Dean just stared at me. They looked similar but dressed completely different, Levi wore his suit like it was casual wear, and Dean wore a tight tee, and some jeans. "They know if they attack Dean head on then he'll kill them easily. So they're going to try to go through you to get to him." Levi answered, and I nodded.

"Great."

Levi grinned at my sarcasm, and Dean let out another sigh. "I could get the whole pack here to help take care of her if you want." He offered, Dean shook his head. "No I don't want the family coming over here, they already hate me enough." That made Levi frown slightly, "We've never hated you Dean." That made Dean look up, "That's not what father told me before I left." I was tempted to ask what he said, but I was too busy wallowing in the extreme tense atmosphere in the room. "You know dad's gone now and I'm Alpha. I'm not like him." Levi insisted, Dean glowered at him. "You may be different, but dad passed not his supporters." Levi let out a sigh, and Dean just looked at the wall.

Well tense family situations were my specialty, so I let out a little breath. "So you think they'll try to attack tonight. If you want Levi I can have you sleep in the guest room." I offered, Dean snapped out of his moodiness when he heard me offer, and Levi cocked his head to the side slightly. "You wouldn't mind having me over?" He asked, I shrugged. "I mean as long as you don't try to murder me in any way it's cool." I answered, looking over at Dean. He obviously didn't share the same opinion as me. Levi grinned, "Well, now I see what he sees in you. Sadly, I have a wife to return to, and I don't think she'd appreciate me staying the night here. Keep an eye out. I'll see you two later. And Sandra, get the biology project in tomorrow please." He said, walking out.

Dean and I stared at each other for a few seconds. I wanted to go hug him, but he just seemed so cold and unapproachable now. He turned his back to me, and I swear my heart broke a little, then I realized something. This is how I must have seemed to him, yet he still tried. No way was I going to let a guy who was laying his life on the line just to talk to me be depressed.

"Dean," I called, walking over to him. Every time I felt truly alone all I needed was a hug, even if I didn't want it. "What?" He asked slowly, I walked up the steps after him. He watched me with cold eyes but that wouldn't deter me. "I'm sorry." I said, looking up at him. When I reached him, I threw my arms around him, and pulled him into a hug. I ran my fingers through his hair comfortingly. "I'm sorry I pulled back. I was upset." I apologized, Dean was completely stiff, but that wouldn't deter me either. Holding together a strong facade was my job, not his.

Suddenly, he completely loosened up, and hugged me back. He buried his face in my neck, and I was surprised when he started weeping. I just kept running my fingers through his hair, and muttering comforting words. I had a feeling he wasn't just crying because I wouldn't let him kiss me. He pulled me in tighter, and I hugged him back tighter as well.

"I'm sorry for crying." He managed through his tears. I rolled my eyes, "You are stupid sometimes Dean. You don't have to apologize for having emotions, and I am here for you, got it?" I demanded, cursing myself for not sounding gentle. He chuckled as little, pulling back. "My tears wiped off the make up covering up that hickey." He said, and I wiped them away smiling. "It's fine, promise not to hit you with a frying pan again." I teased, taking his hand and walking into my room.

We sat on my bed, fingers laced together, and he leaned on me. "Why were you crying?" I asked slowly. Dean let out a sigh, "Well, I don't hate my brother. I've never hated my brother, well maybe at one point I did. My father, he was never the gentlest man, but people flocked to him because he was a strong leader. My mother was the same way. In a family pack, the oldest sibling inherits the pack. Levi was the oldest sibling, and I was younger. It was just the two of us, and my father didn't bother hiding his favoritism. If I accidentally broke a cup I was slapped, if Levi broke a cup his hand was bandaged, and father would apologize for having the cup be breakable in the first place." Dean explained. I stroked his hand comfortingly, and let out a sigh.

"Well, if it makes you feel better I like you much more than I like Levi. By far, you are my favorite."

Dean chuckled, and I kissed his cheek. "It does help." He responded, gripping my hand tighter. I smiled, and looked at him. He was staring down, and he looked vulnerable. "Sorry for shoving you on the ground." I apologized sheepishly, Dean grinned, looking at me. "Don't worry about it kitten, it's part of your charm." He teased, and I smiled even wider. Suddenly there was a loud thump in my chest, and suddenly the three words I'd never thought before raced through my mind.

I love you.

Before I could say anything, Dean sighed. "We should probably get some sleep." I nodded slowly, not confident enough to say them. "Except tonight you are sleeping on this bed too. I'm not going to let the strongest person I've ever met sob on my shoulder and then sleep on the floor. That's too cruel, even for me." Dean smiled.

"Okay."

So that night Dean slept on the bed, and I went to go to the floor but he caught my wrist. "I'm not going to let the strongest person I've ever met let me sob on their shoulder and then sleep on the floor, that's too cruel, even for me." He mocked, pulling me next to him.

Little did I know that'd be the last blissful thing we'd experience in for a while.
