Chapter 25
A groan escaped David's lips when he ht the ground. He was bleeding slightly where the sword had cut him, but other than that he seemed fine. I steadied myself and walked over to him, pulling him to his feet.
"Are you hurt" I asked him
He waved his hand in the air, "Nah, I'm good."
"You sure?"
"Yup," he said flexing his biceps "never been better."
"Good." I said grabbing the sword before I slapped him across the face.
"Ow! What the heck was that for?" he yelled rubbing cheek
"That," I said clutching the blade. "was for taking this, and almost getting us all killed."
"What?" he said aggravated "I told you it was our only option we had!"
"But you never told us what was going to happen."
"C'mon.....guys?" he said looking at the rest of them to back him up.
"She's right D. You didn't tell us anything, just expected us to follow your lead." Trey said speaking up.
"Thank you."I said and high fived him.
David rolled his eyes, "I can't deal with this now. Let's save the world and then sort out our hurt feelings."
As much as I was annoyed at him, I knew he was right. Now I actually looked around to see where we were. We were in some dark room, and the only way it seemed to get out was this even darker and creepier looking hallway. So naturally being the explorers and heroes (and stupid people ) that we were, we entered the dark and spooky corridor.
The first thing I noticed was, I would be a really terrible blind person. It was complete blackness in the hallway. COMPLETELY, UTTERLY, and if I knew how to say dark in a different more dramatic language, I WOULD USE IT. For starters I walked straight into the person who was in front of me (Hanna?), then I fell backwards on the poor sucker who was behind me, so i decided to just feel the wall and walk kind of slowly. Every few seconds one of us would yell 'call out', and the rest of us would say our names to make sure no creepy demon grabbed anyone.
I heard someone sigh and then Trey's voice say, "You know it's moments like this that it really sucks how Summer betrayed us. I would really love to have some light in this place."
"Why? You scared of the dark tough guy?" Hanna said
"Me? " he answered "Nope, It would just be easier to walk when I can actually see where the heck I'm going."
"Sorry, light isn't one of my abilities." I heard David say.
Summer. Even just hearing that name set off a wave of hatred. She who was plotting against us the whole time, knew about the attack and could have stopped it. She could have prevented Hunter from dying. It burned inside of me, I felt the hate course through my veins and enter my bloodstream. I have never felt this strong negatively towards another human being, but maybe that's because I didn't consider her human any more. I took my hands off the wall, feeling what was about to happen.
"I think we can manage just fine without her." I said between gritted teeth.
"Wha-" Hanna started to say but was cut off by a *crack*
My hands burst into flames lighting up the room, our shadows flickering off the walls. I thought about the hurt and anger I was feeling, and operated from there. I didn't feel any pain, physical that is. Now that I could actually see where we were, it seemed like an endless hallway leading to nowhere. We continued walking, the corridor getting narrower each step. I kept on searching for a hidden door or something but there was none.
