Under major editing. Bare with me
I was going crazy. Completely and utterly insane. This couldn't be happening.
"Dani?" I said waving my hand in front her face.
I got no reaction.
I started to shriek, closing my eyes tight and putting my hands over my ears as I crawled into the fetal position. They were all frozen, every single person or thing in this room was frozen- besides for me.
I waited what felt like forever for somebody to shake me awake and tell me this was all some sort of sick dream. I rocked myself back and forth screaming until my throat was sore, and then I heard something.
Footsteps. It sounded just like the pitter patter of feet against this stupid hospitals floor. I opened my eyes and my friends were still frozen in place. It was so freaking creepy. I looked towards the glass doors but there was no one there.
I closed my eyes and tried to will myself to go to sleep, I just wanted to wake up and have this all be over.
So I was back in the fetal position with my hands over my ears and eyes shut tight when I heard my name being called.
At first it was a low whisper,"Ava." Which I chose to ignore.
Then it got louder, "AVA." But still I chose to ignore it.
Another voice said; "Do you think she's dead
"I wish I was." I said my face still in the bedsheets.
I looked up and saw that standing before me was Hunter, and a different boy that I didn't recognize. They weren't frozen, but everyone else still was
"Hey Ava," Hunter said softly. "how are you feeling?"
"Hunter..." I said my voice shaking, making myself look only at him so I wouldn't have to look at my frozen friends. "What the heck is going on? Tell me I'm going crazy, I beg of you, just tell me I'm nuts and that they're sending me to the loony bin,but do NOT tell me this is actually happening."
"Um, what do we tell her? She's obviously in deniiiiial." The other boy said in an annoying sing songy voice.
"Shut it David, you're not helping." Hunter said sharply.
I was sitting upright on my knees now, and I grabbed onto Hunters arm, "Please." I said my voice getting desperate. "Tell me why everyone's is like this besides for us. Tell me this is all a nightmare and that I'll wake up soon. Please."
His face looked like nothing I could describe other than guilty, and maybe a little sad.
"Uh Ava? I can't tell you what you want to hear, because it wouldn't be the truth."
I closed my eyes and laid back on my pillow. "Unbelievable." I said. "So what the heck is happening?"
I felt him put his hand on mine and I quickly took mine away. Don't be holding my hand when I'm having a meltdown.
"Do you remember what we talked about on the car ride back to your house a few days ago?" He asked me.
I racked my brain trying to think back to what he said to me that night. I was pretty out of it that night so it took me a while until I remembered what Hunter was talking about.
The whole freaking drive home he wouldn't stop talking about werewolves, and how I was becoming one, and all that crap.
"Dear Lord," I said sighing, "the werewolf stuff. And how to control my inner wolf and all that."
