Chapter 12

On the way to my families apartment we had talked and we decided that we would have to meet up more often in order for him to teach me what we 'were'. I gave him my number and email and he promised to send me some 'reading material' later.

My brothers were sitting on the couch but got up when they saw us walk in.

"Ava! My darling little sister!" Josh said in that annoying voice as he was running to me and squeezing me in a hug.

"Josh. Can't. Really. Breathe." I said against his chest

"Oh right, sorry." he said letting go of me

"Hunter, this is-" I started but was interrupted by josh

"I'm Avas awesome, and way cooler older brother." He said putting his hand out

"Hey, I'm Hunter." Hunter answered shaking his hand

"I apologize for his behavior in advance. As shocked as you may be, he's actually a college student. Which I have to ask Josh, what are you even doing home?"

He put a hand over his chest and said, "That hurt me right here little sister. I'm home because I wanted to be around our lovely family. You know, how many more times do I have before I'm old and married to have a family dinner?"

I gave him a look.

"Okay fine, I can't have another meal from that dorm. It's nauseating."

"That sounds more like you."

"Hey man." Aden said to Hunter

"Hey," Hunter aid

They started to talk about school and apparently something hysterical happened in gym, because they were both laughing about it once I tuned back into the conversation.

Just as they were talking my dad walked into the house.

"Hello, Aden you're having guests?" he said

"Actually this is Hunter, he's Ava's guest tonight." Aden said

My dad got this serious look on his face and he said,

"Hunter, so glad to finally meet you."

"Same here, Mr. Montgomery."

My dad looked at me and said, "Manners. I like him."

I rolled my eyes.

As we were talking I heard pots and pans banging in the kitchen and a whole lot of noise. Then my mom came running into the den looking frazzled and said,

"Hunter! I'm so happy you stayed for dinner."

Hunter smiled and said, "The pleasures mine, Mrs. Montgomery."

"Ooh, I like this one. He's handsome AND has manners, he sure is a keeper." my mom said

"Mom, don't scar him." I said in between gritted teeth

"Oh right, I'm supposed to be normal boring mom." she said

My dad laughed and said, "Mmm, I'd love to chat but something smells just amazing"

"Oh right, i almost forgot! Dinners just about ready. Why don't we all go to the kitchen." My mom said leading us to there

"I'm sorry about my parents." I said to Hunter

He laughed slightly and said, "Nah, their awesome."

I thought about it, and he was right. My parents were the best. My mom was just all around crazy, and so was my dad (even with his abnormally corny jokes).
