Knox's p.o.v:

Two babies were crying uncontrollably and one of them was pulling the other's hair almost ripping it out of the other baby's scalp.

I let out a little chuckle as I noticed the babies resembling me and Jay.

"I don't want them!" Jay cried as she tried to separate them. She looked too much exhausted.

I quickly stepped in and lifted the babies gently and rocked them away. They fell asleep in minutes.

"Geez Chunky. These are our kids. Let's be patient here."

I slowly took a look at her. She looked so beautiful. I was so lucky to have her as my wife.
But her exhaustion in her expression was increasing.

"Go sleep. I'll take care of them."

She looked at me as if she could burst into tears any minute.

"Why are you here?"She asked in suspicion as both the babies calmed down. "You're here for them right? If you love them so much, then take them with you."

I looked at her in awe. I miss her already. I shouldn't have said those things to her yesterday. But it was to keep her safe.

"Go sleep. I'll take care of the rest here," I answered calmly to my dream's Jay.

"That's not what I asked! Are you staying in this marriage for them?" She pointed at the babies.

I quickly hugged all of us together.

"I love you chunky. I always did. And I always will." I whispered into her ears as we stayed like that for a while.

Tears fell from her eyes. "Liar," She whispered back. "All of you!" She pushed me and the babies away.

I woke up feeling groggy. Yep. She would have definitely done that if had told her the entire truth. But my question was- why the babies?

I heard something about it psych class. But I don't remember the lectures either way.

No one does.

"Your father's waiting for you." My father's butler said who was already standing on my bedside.

I nearly fell out of my bed. Right. I couldn't return home yesterday. I was brought down to hell.

"How long have you been standing there Edward?"

"As long as I heard you confess your love to someone else and hugging your pillow tightly."

My face reddened up.

"Have you heard something called privacy?"

"Why yes. But it doesn't exist in this house."

I rolled my eyes in irritation.

"10 minutes to get ready. As you know, The duke and duchess of Francis with their daughter are joining us today for breakfast." He checked his watch.

I laid back on my bed. "5 more minutes." I muttered as Edward shook his head disapprovingly and went away.

"So...Leonard tells me you're a psychiatrist." The duke's daughter smiled at me. Almost like flirting with me. But I didn't want to jump to conclusions early.

"Yes." I gave it short and crisp and continued eating what was kept in front of me.

"You look different than rest of your family members. Are you adopted?" The duchess asked me inappropriately topping it off with her British accent. Her daughter hit her on the arm gently to let her know the inappropriateness.

"What? Is it racist to point out someone different now?" The duchess asked in a whispered tone.

"I'm sorry about my mother. You do know how things went between Megan and main family."

I looked at my "adoptive parents" to help me out here a bit. They kept their mouths shut.

Leonard laughed at this. "It's real funny story though. It's every Christmas, thanksgiving story." He turned to give me a haunting look.

"He's basically a weird mixed race Harry Potter. Some Asian woman left him at our doorstep when there was a thunderstorm. Saw it myself when I was 6." He ended proudly.

"He wasn't wanted." He whispered gently.

Before I could hit him some reply the "adoptive father" clicked his glass with a fork to announce his toast.

"Duke and Duchess of Francis. Thank you for joining us this morning. It's a great honour to have prestigious guests such as yourself." He smiled at them.

I turned to  my favourite siblings Lily and Liam- the twins to keep myself occupied from this nonsense.

Both of them were slouched down bored.

"Sit properly!" My adoptive mother inhaled to them sharply as my adoptive father continued with his long toast.

I turned my head forward again only to notice to be stared at by the Duke's daughter.

I just pretended to cough and covered my mouth with a napkin showing my wedding ring perfectly on display.

She lowered down her cleavage on her dress.

For attempt number 2 to escape from here- pretend to hold an important call.

I slowly took out my phone and pretended to take the call.

"Yes. I'll be outside in a second." I whispered and held out the phone. "I'm sorry. This is important." I announced over and politely left the table.

Finally I got to sit near the rose patches in the garden looking at any possible new messages. No messages from Jay.

Yeah, it hurt her bad. But she's safe.

"So...this is your secret hideout." A voice came from behind flirtingly.

I let out an irritated sigh and turned around.

It was the duke's daughter.

"I'm sorry, what part of I'm married do you not understand?" I asked irritatingly.

"Oh come on, I do my own research. Your wife left you." She sat down and touched my chest.

I stood up immediately. "No."

"Please. I love you Knox. At least let's try dating for a while." She pleaded.

I looked at her coldly. First Jay and now this.

"No." I said while clenching my jaw.

Enough is enough, I loved Jay. I had to find her no matter what and tell her that I'm sorry.

"But.."

Before she could finish I took my coat and left the garden. I only wanted Jay. No one else.
