P.O.V of Knox

It's already been 2 months and no contact from Jay except her last voicemail which traced back to her workplace.

Only contact which did occur was the divorce papers lying on the table with a snotty lawyer sitting opposite on the table inside an empty cafe.

"I'll sign those only if Jay comes here in person." I demanded in a calm tone.

"My client doesn't want to." He leaned back bored.

I chuckled. "You think this is funny?"

"Look man, just sign the damn papers and I'll be out on my way."

In an impulse I quickly stood up, reached out,  grabbed his collars and pointed a gun on his head.

"WHERE'S MY WIFE?"

"I don't know! Please, just, let's calm things out." He finally cooperated.

I pushed he away and dusted my hands off.

"Your wife's brother actually hired me." He started talking.

"ONE MORE LIE" I pointed the gun again.

"I'm not lying! Why would I lie!?"

"She doesn't have any brother."

"Yes, she does." Patricia's voice echoed into the cafe. "The man's not lying." She ruffled some documents.

I sat down tired. "Tell me about him,"

"Seo Ji Wan. Sole heir to S&H empire. One of the biggest companies in South Korea with large American partners. And interestingly they are connected to the underworld."

Patricia's eyes twinkled with excitement. "Guess your wife's not so boring anymore."

"I don't care about that. How did she not ever tell me about him? She literally just-just open about everything in her life."

"She didn't know it either. They just met 2 months ago. Then wham! Your wife's gone." She placed some photos in front of me.

Last appearance of Jay caught on CCTV footage.

"This isn't like Jay though. Why would she quit her job and disappear just like that?"

"What? Her co-workers have a different story." Patricia sat down beside the lawyer.

"Apparently she took a long non paid break of 6 months. It's not quitting. But it's career suicide at this point,"

"Excuse me? Can I go?" The lawyer asked.

"Don't be such a dick. His wife just disappeared and now asking for divorce. And something is shady because she's not acting like herself. How'd you feel?" Patricia answered back.

Suddenly something clicked.

"No, wait. I'll sign the papers." I sat up.

Patricia's red fury hair flamed over more than ever. "Now you'll sign it?!"

"I know what you're thinking but it's no use." The lawyer replied as well.

"Why're you helping suddenly?"

"I feel bad for him."

"Shut up and tell why you can't locate them for us." I demanded.

"Because....it's that Seo guy's goons who will be collecting the papers. I never saw your wife or the brother."

I leaned back reaching the dead end. "Where's Seo?"

"Right now? Opening ceremony of a new hospital." Patricia showed me the video. "But we simply can't touch him because of list."

"So, what do we do now?"

Patricia smile slyly. "I called for backup."

She pointed towards the door. Two men entered. One was well built black guy and the other was a younger white guy with lots of freckles.

"Fred and Jules to the rescue!" She introduced.

"Fred and Jules? Are you Jay's co-workers?" I asked almost getting happy to see them.

"Damn right." Fred smiled at me.

"Wait, where's her best friend?"

Three of them looked at me awkwardly.

"Let's just say she's a two faced bitch." Patricia opened up.

"What?"

"Swati.....really just stuck around to get advantage from Sarge. She's not really interested in saving her." Jules replied. "She's become unbearable after Sarge's disappearance."

"Fake friends. We've all been there." The lawyer commented.
