Location- Memphis Pediatric Center
Time- 3:55 pm

I sigh, "Alright, what brings you guys by today?" I ask turning around. My eyes go wide once they land on Ja Morant...

"She had a fever for a couple of days and has had trouble sleeping," I'm guessing his sister says. They look like twins so it wasn't hard to guess.

"And as you can see she keeps pulling at her ear," Ja says pointing at his daughter who is indeed pulling at her ear.

I nod my head, "Okay, I'm quickly just going to check her ears," I say as I get my otoscope. As I try to hold the otoscope up to her ear she snuggles more into his chest.

"It's okay twin, let the doctor check you," He says and I look at him for a split second to see him staring at me. She eases up a little bit and he turns her body to face me.

"What's your name sweetheart?" I ask so she can warm up to me.

"Kaari," She says quietly.

"Kaari, that's a beautiful name," I smile and she gives me a slight smile.

"And how old are you Kaari?" I ask as I start to examine her right ear.

"Two," She says.

I gasp, "Wow you're such a big girl," I exclaim making her grin. I step away from her to put the otoscope back.

"So she does have an ear infection, and I want to put her on antibiotics for about a week or so. I want to do a hearing test just to be on the safe side," I tell them.

"But she gon be okay though right?" He asks and I nod.

"Yeah, she'll be fine. She's not crying or fussing so she's a strong girl," I assure him. Just as I say that I see Siloe talking outside.

I hold my finger up, "Give me a second to get the test," I say walking out. I grab onto her elbow and walk her into the corner.

"What, what happened?" She questions.

"I need a hearing test..." I tell her and she scrunched her eyebrows.

"So ask a nurse girl," She says chuckling.

"You ain't let me finish. I need one for Ja Morant's daughter," I whisper and her eyes widen.

"Ja Morant is here?!" She whisper-yells back to me.

"Yes, but anyways get me a hearing test please, Dr. Waters," I urge and she nods her head. She gets me one and I walk back into my office.

"Okay sorry for the wait," I say placing the kit on the side of the examination bed.

"You good, ma," He says as I unpack the kit. Ma? Hmm, Ima just ignore that. Out of the corner of my eye, I see his sister smirking at him

"So all I'm going to do is place this on her and see if her hearing has been affected in any way," I explain and he nods his head.

"Ima start going to work wit you or something especially if I get to meet fine-ass basketball players," Amina voices as we sit in the living room watching Moesha.

"It's not like I was paying attention to him," I say and she gives me the "really nigga" face.

"I'm serious, his daughter was my main priority at that moment," I say trying to convince her.

"So if he tried to you know spit game at you, you wouldn't fall for it?" She asks and I look at her.

"I just got out of a relationship, I'm not tryna do anything wit anybody especially wit a ball player. They hoes," I shake my head.
