Winter Wonderland by Bryson Tiller played through the kitchen as Kaari and I were in the process of baking chocolate chip cookies.
"Is this all gonna be for Santa or can I have some too?" Kaari asks looking at me hopefully.
"You can have some but we're gonna make the s'mores dip so don't eat too much," I say and she nods.
"It smells good in here, I'm bout to tear up these cookies," Ja walks into the kitchen licking his lips.
"You didn't help so you can't have any," Kaari says matter-of-factly making me chuckle.
"C'mon, ya gotta give me a taste test. I gotta make sure it's good for Santa," Ja says as he peeps into the oven looking at the cookies.
"I'll think about it," Kaari shrugs as she turns away from him.
"You gone do me like that lil bit?" Ja questions as he sneaks up on her and starts tickling her.
"Yes," She answers as she bursts out into fits of laughter as he tickles her.
"Kash! Come get him!" Kaari yells and I can start to hear Kash's paws against the floor running into the kitchen going straight for Ja.
"You know Kash don't play bout KaariJ," I laugh as Kash tugs at Ja's sweats while growling. Ja stops tickling her and puts his hand up in surrender.
"Ight lil nigga," Ja nudged Kash off of him before bucking at him. I shake my head and Ja's antics as I look at Kaari who has her arms raised for me to pick her up. I placed her on my hip she rested her head on my shoulder with a huff.
"You good munchkin?" I ask with a chuckle.
"Mhm," She nods as the timer for the cookies rang out, momentarily pausing the music.
"Can you take them out bubs?" I motion my head toward the oven as I turned the timer off. I place Kaari down on the island before going into the cupboard to get a cup. I set it down on the counter and then go to the fridge to pour some milk for her:
"When the cookies cool down you can have two," I say to Kaari as I place the glass of milk next to her.
"What movie we gone watch?" Ja questions as he moves the cookies onto a plate.
"Princess and the Frog!" Kaari exclaims making me chuckle.
"A Christmas movie baby," I say causing her to frown.
"But I wanna watch Princess and the Frog," She crosses her arms.
"It's just for today, we can watch it after Christmas," Ja says making her sigh.
"Home Alone," She decides.
"Home Alone it is," I nod.

Time- 11:52 pm
"C'mon, Kaari, we gotta put you to bed," I tap a sleeping Kaari as she rests on my arm.
"I'm not sleeping Didi," She says as she sits up.
"So then what are you doing?" I ask.
"Resting my eyes," She says making me laugh.
"She gets that from you," I say to Ja causing him to chuckle.
"I be actually resting my eyes though," He says and I hum.
"Yeah, right," I say as I pause the movie and stand up.
"I'll clean up while you put her to bed," Ja says and I nod.
