November 7th

"Khadijah, you have someone waiting for you outside," Tasha opened my office door.

"Who is it?" I ask while still keeping my attention on my patient.

"Ja," She smirks. I haven't seen Ja since the 4th and it's now the 7th so it's safe to say that I missed him.

"Alright tell him to give me a couple of minutes," I say. Tasha nods before closing my door.

"Is that your boyfriend?" The mother of my patient questions.

"Yeah, was it that easy to tell?" I ask and she laughs lightly while nodding her head.

"For sure, your eyes lit up and you smiled a little," She said making me blush.

"Sorry about that, I try to keep composed and professional," I apologize.

"It's all good, I definitely understand, just hearing her father's name makes me smile," She says while looking down at her daughter sitting on her lap.

"Aww, hopefully, I still have that reaction in the future. But regarding your daughter, unfortunately, she seems to have stomatitis which is essentially swelling inside the mouth," I explain making her frown.

"Okay, what does treatment look like for her?" She asks.

"She's too young for pills so I'm going to prescribe her a numbing solution. She needs a soft diet, along with plenty of fluids to prevent dehydration and you can give her cool drinks and frozen treats to help with soothing the pain. Oh, and don't give her citrus juices like orange juice or lemonade or salty or spicy foods," I give her all the information she needs.

"This should last long right? It should go away in a week or two?" She asks.

"Yup, when two weeks are up you can come back here for a follow-up," I tell her and she nods.

"Alright, thank you," She smiles. After she exits my office I exhale deeply while massaging my head.

"You good miss doctor?" I look up to see Ja entering my office.

"Mhm," I hum as he walks up to me, pulling me out of my chair.

"Don't lie Dijah," He says and he engulfs me in a hug.

"My head hurts, I'm hungry, and I'm tired. Ion even know why they got me here on a fucking Sunday. This is the second time they got me here on my day off plus I'm working for another two days. I love my job but damn, they can't call nobody else," I rant while Ja consoles me.

"You gone be straight mama, we gone get some food, I can give you a massage, whatever you want," He says making me look up at him.

"I could definitely go for a massage," I smile and he nods.

"Bet, get yo stuff ready so we can leave," He says before kissing my lips. I let go of him and take off my white coat. I grab my jacket and my tote bag. After I turn off my office lights I close and lock the door and then head to his car.

"I got a surprise for you in the back seat," Ja announces as we both get settled in his car.

"What? You didn't have to buy me anything," I scrunch my eyebrows up.

"I know I didn't but I wanted to," He says I look over to the back seat and see two shoe boxes from Ugg.

I gasp, "You bought me Uggs," I smile as I place both boxes in my lap.

"I bought you two different colors, I couldn't decide and I knew you would like both anyways," He says and I open the first one to see Ugg Tasmans in black.
