Kill them.

She tried to ignore the dark voice inside her head by drowning them out with loud rock music. She tapped her fingers with the rhythm of the beat when the voice disappeared. She sighed in bliss and lay back against her pillow, closing her eyes. She loathed those voices that have been haunting her since she hit age eleven years old. She told her parents about them when they wouldn't stop talking to her. They looked at her like she was crazy and immediately sent her to a therapy that dealt with those "things".

She saw her therapist for a few months till she lied to her parents that the voices were gone. They were happy and said it must have been a phase, the stupid therapist thought so too. Months passed till the voices started to tell her to do things, awful things that she was taught were wrong. Her family wasn't religious but they did come from a long generation that has always been wealthy.

She was supposed to get married once she reached the age eighteen years old to a wealthy man. She was fifteen and hated knowing the fact that her parents ran her whole life probably till they were dead. It was the cold hard truth.

Kill them Jessica, then you will be free.

She rolled over on her stomach and screamed in the pillow. She let out her frustration for a few minutes till her throat started to hurt. Jessica rolled back on her back and looked up at her ceiling. It was pink and white and it made her want to throw up. She jumped off of her bed and went to her bathroom.

She looked at her reflection and wrinkled her nose. She hated her long dull brown hair that fell down her back in big waves and dark brown eyes. The only thing she liked about herself was her light tan skin that shimmers in the sun. She wanted a new makeover not something her parents want. She wanted to be herself from now on.

Jessica left the bathroom and walked out of her bedroom. She told her parents she was going to work on a project with a friend. They believed her lie and told her to be back before sunset.

She jumped in her car and drove towards the mall with a grin plastered across her face. She spent hours shopping and getting a new hairstyle. She came back home before sunset and her parents almost had a heart attack when they saw her. They told her she had a few days to get rid of her new makeover. She just rolled her eyes and walked upstairs to her bedroom and locking her door.

She collapsed on her bed and closed her eyes in complete bliss that she has never felt before. She finally felt like herself, not some doll that her parents dressed up for their pleasure. Her hair was to her breasts, with short layers everywhere and a fringe that hid her right eye. It was also tease that gave it a little bit more volume and dyed pitch black with sections of it azure blue. Also it was no longer wavy, it was now straight! She even bought purple eye contacts. She was herself this time.

Looking sexy, Jessica. Can you do a little dance for me?

There goes the voice again. She rolled her eyes and laid down on her stomach and put on her ear buds, blasting rock music in her ear drums.

Don't ignore me!

She jumped and ripped the ear buds out. The voice got louder. She dropped to the ground and pressed her hands to her ears, trying to stop the voice.

Stop being a weak human and listen to me for once! I want you to kill your parents tonight while they are asleep.

I can't.

Jessica started to cry and curled up in a ball.

Can't or won't?

She didn't answer.
