Chapter 19

Ava’s POV

“You are serious?”

I untangled myself from Selena and looked at her.

“Of course I am.”

“But this town is my home. You need to take me back home, like now.” I got off of the couch and looked around.

“My family are worried sick about me. And Tess, my girlfriend has to be going crazy. We never been apart this long before. I shouldn’t be here with you.”

I ran my fingers through my hair and didn’t stop looking around. I couldn’t look at her. This was too much for me. My heart was pounding in my ears and my breathing was getting shallow.

“Ava, you need to calm down. Breath in and out.” Her hands touched my shoulder and soon as that happen I pushed her off of me.

“Don’t touch me! You aren’t the Jessica I remembered! I went on with my life and you coming back isn’t helping me want you back!” Tears were now streaming down my face as I yelled at her.

She didn’t say anything only stared back with sad eyes. Shit. I didn’t meant to hurt her but she needed to know what I felt.

“I have a family and a girlfriend that loves me. You can’t take that away from me.” I lowered my voice and wiped my tears away.

“I need to do something.” She said in a monotone voice and left the living room. I heard her unlock a door and slam it shut. I was now alone or was I? I heard her having sex with a guy name Slade earlier. Is he here still?

I guess I’ll be heading upstairs to investigate. I slowly let my feet softly stepped on each step, trying not to let the stairs creak if he is still here. It took me God knows how long to reach the top of the stairs. I looked down the hall way. I didn’t see anything or hear anything. It was dead silence. It was way too quiet.

I gulped and sent a mental pray up to God before I started moving. I was really hoping not to find anyone in this cabin. I wanted to be alone and wait till Selena comes back. I heard a car start after she slammed the door. She left me alone and doing something I really do not want to know.

“Ava.”

My thoughts disappeared. Did I just hear a voice whisper my name up ahead? It must be my imagination. Being alone makes your mind think up crazy things to scare you.

“Avvvaaa.”

Now that wasn’t a whisper. That was a male’s voice taunting me and it sounded like someone I didn’t ever wanted to see ever again. I backed away trying to get to the stairs but was frozen in place when Scott and Ethan walked out from two rooms a few yards away from me. They both had sinister smiles etched onto their faces and were walking towards me.

“Ava why look so scared? We are back to start our family.” Scott said and let his eyes lower to my stomach. On instinct my hands went over to my bump. My legs still wouldn’t listen to me.

“Our baby needs a dad. So why not our baby have two dads.” They were getting closer to almost being able to touch me. I need to move and run for it.

“Ava come back to us and be ours again.” Ethan spoke this time and reached his hand out to me and stopped walking. Scott just smirked and continue walking towards me.

Come on legs listen to me! I closed my eyes and willed myself to run. It felt like a lifetime before I could move. I bolted and ran for the stairs.

I heard the guys run after me. They were gaining on me fast. I tried to go faster but my pregnancy was slowing me down. My knees were on fire and I was about to collapse. Before I could face plant the floor: hands wrapped around my waist and caught me. I didn’t want to melt in their arms but I did. I was exhausted, I was not the athletic type.
