Chapter 17

A/N: I finally finished this chapter, because I really wanted to upload it before I delayed too long. I hope this isn't too short and the next chapter will take a bit longer to upload. Tessa's POV

I was going completely crazy. Ava was supposed to get home safely and see me at school the next day. We were supposed to act like a normal couple at school and ignore those around us as they called us mean names and tried to embarrass us. But I didn't let them touch Ava because I would beat the shit out of them. I loved her that much. I couldn't live without her. Two days and going on to be three days without her was killing me.

I have always been with her every day since we met each other in six grade. Never went through a day without seeing her beautiful face. I was doing everything I can to find her and bring her back safely. I was at the police station again though I was there yesterday to ask them if they have find any leads. All they found was a dead young male at a gas station the night she went missing. Something was telling me it was connected with her somehow but the police won't listen to me.

I need to try to convince them again. I opened the door and walked in. I went straight to the sheriff's office and stormed in there. He jumped and his eyes went wide when he saw me. I must have a murderous look on my face because I feel like I will kill someone if they don't listen to me today. I slammed my hands on desk and stared right in his eyes.

"You are going to listen to me and help me find Ava." He gulps before he spoke.

"We are doing everything we can."

"No you are not. You need to go back to the case of that guy's mysterious death."

"We looked into it and didn't see any connection of Ava's disappearance."

I didn't say anymore and glared at him for a few more seconds then stormed off. I didn't forget to slam his door so loud that people watched me leave the station.

They must have missed something.

That was the only thing on my mind as I drove back to my house. I need to find a way to break into the station at night without getting caught and I knew the perfect person to help me.

"Hey, James." I purred in his ear when I sneaked up behind him at the car shop. He was working on some car's engine and didn't turn around when I wrapped my arms around him.

"Do you really have to do that?"

"I thought I was your favorite cousin." I let go of him and stood next to him and peered inside the car.

"That is true...what do you want?"

"I need a favor, a big favor."

"What kind of a favor?"

"A favor only you can handle."

He turn around and faced me. He had a goofy smile on his face and crossed his arms.

"So that kind of favor huh?"

"Yup."

"Okay I'll do it." I squealed and jumped on him and gave him a hug and a kiss on the cheek then left with a huge smile on my face.

Tonight is going to be fun. I will finally have a head start to find Ava.

"Tess, you need to let me handle it."

"No I can do it on my own. I'm not a little kid anymore."

"To me you still are. Now let go of it and let me do it."
